Drozdy reservoir is an excellent place for rest and fishing

Drozdy reservoir is a reservoir located near the village of Zhdanovichi in the northwestern part of Minsk. In Belarus this place is considered the most popular. Here locals come to rest for a vacation or a weekend. Here you can often meet fishermen sitting with fishing rods.

Brief description of the reservoir

In the seventies there was a need for technical water supply and water improvement of the city. Solved these issues helped the river Svisloch. For this, the construction of the dam was started. The reservoir is flowing, its area is more than 2 square meters. Km. The depth of the reservoir is different, the largest is six meters.

In the middle of the mirror surface there are four small islands with forest plantations. In these thickets there is a large number of forest birds. On the surface of the reservoir you can often see ducks, swans and geese, who are happy to be fed by holidaymakers.

Drozdy (Minsk) is not the only one in the vicinity of the reservoir. The reservoir Zaslavskoe is located very close to it. Between each other they are connected by a channel. This place is often used for water sports. Along the coastline there are well-equipped beaches, and there are boat stations where you can rent water equipment.

Beaches

The reservoir of Drozdy along the entire perimeter of the coastline has eight beaches. On each of them there are cabins for changing clothes, benches for rest, umbrellas-fungi. On the beach number 5 and number 8 are shower cabins in which you can rinse after a swim. Everyone who has a rest here will have a great time and will find a suitable occupation among the great variety of them. Comfortable deckchairs for rest will allow you to settle on the shore of the reservoir, take sunny baths and enjoy a warm breeze.

In the cafe "Shashlychny Yard" you can enjoy aromatic shish kebabs. Those who prefer active recreation can play beach volleyball. For children on the water reservoir Drozdy (Svisloch River), playgrounds are organized where the kids will spend time for interesting games. You can also walk among man-made grottoes and waterfalls. After a rich holiday in such a picturesque place, everyone will have a large number of photos to remember.

One of the beaches is right in the city, to which you can walk along the Favorits avenue in just a few minutes. For the convenience of visitors near the shore there is a parking for cars.

After the construction of the Minsk-Arena, the reservoir was to become a unique place for recreation and a pearl for urban residents. But in fact, the coastal line was not completely enriched. It is divided into a civilized (for recreation) zone, wild (for hiking) and the one that the human foot has not walked at all.

Reservoir Drozdy: how to get there?

Six years ago it was difficult to imagine how to get to this pond. After the construction of the Minsk Arena, it became easier to get to it. There is public transport to the destination.

For example, beach number 2 is located directly in the city. This place is very popular among the townspeople. To explain it is very simple: it is enough to take a trolleybus (route number 10), and after a few stops you will find yourself on a pond. Also, many buses go there: No. 1, 44, 119, 133, 136. The stop on which you need to get off is called Minsk-Manezh. Then walk literally 500 meters along Tikhaya Street, and now the Drozdy reservoir.

To the beaches No. 5, 6, 7, 8 there are two bus routes (44 and 136). You need to leave at the school stop. After that, go along Parkova Street to the coastline.

Fishing

Despite everything, this pond is a favorite place in the summer for tourists and for ice fishing in the winter. Altogether, there are about ten fish species in the reservoir, but most often there are crucian, bream, bleak, perch, ruff.

Due to the fact that the reservoir Drozda is flowing, fishing on it is difficult. Fishermen have such an opinion that anyone who can catch fish on this pond is considered a professional.
