What is a hamam?

This is the wettest (up to 100%) and the coolest (+ 40-60 degrees) of the above baths. There are three different heated pools. The first with a cold, the second with a cool and the third with warm water. As it was already
Noted, hamam - this is the wettest bath. In one of its walls is built a large boiler - a source of steam. The room is heated by strongly heated air, the flow of which moves along the marble floor pipe. In the room there are also marble beds. They must also be warm (up to 35 degrees). Since the room is constantly thick steam, the ceilings in the hammam build a dome. Due to this, droplets that accumulate on them, flow down the walls down, and do not fall on the washable. Now you know what a hamam is, or rather, how it works. However, let's make an excursion into the past and get acquainted with the history of this invention.

History and origin of hamam

This name comes from the Arabic word "boor", which means "fever", but the prototype of these baths still had Roman terms. Initially, in the niche of one of the walls was a giant cauldron with water, steam from which, through special holes in the walls, was fed into the remaining rooms. Hamams were intended for nobles and masters, so their interior decoration was rich and luxurious. The Prophet Muhammad believed that visiting a bath is an obligatory ritual for a faithful Muslim. However, he argued that it promotes the activation of sexual function, hence, fertility. Women's and men's baths were built next to each other and had one source of steam and water supply. By the way, for ladies the visit to this institution was also of social importance. Here they discussed a cup of coffee with their women's affairs, gossiped, and shared news.

The distinctive features of Turkish bani

Today in Russia every day opens a variety of spa centers, in the list of services which has a "Turkish bath" point. However, what is given to customers is often a bad resemblance. Those who do not yet know what the hamam (Turkish bath) is and how it differs from other steam rooms, should know that there is no such suffocating heat as in the Russian steam and Finnish sauna, but here the increased humidity, which can reach 100% . This is great for both women and all those who do not tolerate very high temperatures.

Hamam in Moscow

To date, there are thousands of hammams in the capital. And their main visitors are people who love the combination of water treatments with massage. After all, this is an obligatory service of the Turkish bath. Some Muscovites, who did not know what a hamam was, came here quite by accident, later becoming big fans of true Turkish hospitality and a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. These establishments are especially popular among Muscovites. After all, from a very high temperature in a Russian or Finnish bath the vessels on the face and body greatly widen, which is contraindicated for some women, here this problem does not exist, and one can spend hours in a company of friends for hours.
