What is the personification: from reception to attitude

No one teaches a child to talk to nonliving toys and objects, and he talks to them, and even in earnest. No one attaches much importance to the fact that, even after becoming an adult, a person continues this communication with an inanimate world. And, swearing once again on a hanging computer or stroking the body with words of gratitude to your favorite car, it does so sincerely that the question involuntarily arises: "Where does such a need to endow the objective world with the qualities of living beings?" For this, first of all, it is necessary to know what kind of personification is.

Personification of the soul

In itself, the term "personification" (or personification) has Latin roots, is stylistic and refers to the "revival" of abstract or inanimate objects. But is the animation of such a plan always a stylistic reception? But it depends on the attitude and perception of the person. If he sincerely believes that everything in the world has his soul, then we are talking about animism (animation of animate and inanimate nature), and then the objects depicted by the author are a manifestation of his animistic outlook. This must always be taken into account, therefore, it is possible to clearly define what the personification is in a particular work: this style or world view is possible only on the basis of the author's personality. If you know well the work of Goethe or Tiutchev, then their examples of personification of nature can not be regarded as a simple literary device. These poets have a special view of the world: Goethe has a romantic view, Tyutchev has a philosophical view. By the way, Fyodor Ivanovich even has a poem on this subject, in which he says about nature, that she has a soul, freedom, love, and language-all this needs to be felt and understood.

The need to "revive"

And what is the personification in Russian (and not only) folk art? After all, what genre it takes, anyone abounds with the animation of all things and mythical. Is it not because of this genetic memory that people still need to talk to objects because of this? This phenomenon can not be called a stylistic device. This is a proof of the continuity (generality) of matter, regardless of its living or nonliving manifestation. The sun at us always laughs, the rain cries, the blizzard howls, and the breeze caresses. There is clearly an animistic personification, examples of which have passed the test for centuries and, probably, will remain with the person forever.

For children and adults

It is necessary to dwell in somewhat more detail on what is the embodiment of fiction as an embodiment of fiction . This is, above all, allegory (stylistic transformation of the subject) and allegory, which are often used in fables and parables. In these cases, the "revival" of objects serves to convey to the reader the instructive aspect of the works, so here and the subjects are selected the most suitable for expressing a certain thought. For example, you can recall the fables of the unrivaled in this genre of Krylov, such as "Guns and sails" and "Cauldron and a pot". In the modern world, the creators of cartoons and advertisements are widely used for impersonation. If in the first case the revived cars, shoes and other household items contribute to the upbringing of children: they teach them careful and attentive attitude to everything around them, in the second case, "live" chocolates or stomachs attract the attention of the potential consumer and intelligibly explain the advantages of this or that product.
