Dead lakes: review, description, nature and reviews. Salt Lake in Russia, analogue of the Dead Sea

There are many mysteries and mysteries in the world. Despite the fact that science is developing at a superfast pace, and Mars and deep space are already being studied, scientists have as yet no answer to many questions on Earth. Among such mysteries are dead lakes.

Natural inkwell

In Algeria (Africa) there is a pond full of real ink. Yes, it's not just lilac-colored water, but the most real ink, which is filled with pens and written in notebooks. They are sold in pure form without additional chemical treatment in stores not only in Algeria, but also in other countries.

The ink lake, or, as the aborigines call it, the "Devil's Eye" is completely lifeless. There are no plants, no fish, no crustaceans, no other living creatures, for that liquid that splashes in the shores of the lake is not water, but solid poisonous chemistry.

Scientists, studying this phenomenon, put forward the hypothesis that the reason for the unusual composition of water are the two rivers flowing into the Ink Lake. One carries with it a huge quantity of iron salts, the other is extremely rich in organic. Mixed in the lake basin, they enter into a chemical interaction, as a result of which the water turns into ink.

This hypothesis was greatly shaken by the experiment, during which, in the laboratory, the water of these two rivers was mixed, and ... nothing happened. The water did not turn into ink. Now scientists have to find that possible catalyst that stimulates the chemical reaction in the lake, or another cause of the phenomenon.

There are other mysterious dead lakes in the world.

Asphalt Pool

Near the Northern Venezuela (South America) in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean is the island of Trinidad. In one of the craters of this island volcano there is an unusual lake filled with real asphalt. The depth of the reservoir is 90 m, and the area is 46 hectares.

Annually 150 thousand tons of asphalt is extracted from the lake. It is used for local construction needs, and is also exported to the UK, USA and other countries. Over the entire period of field operation, more than 5 million tons of asphalt were mined. At the same time, the level of "water" fell by only 0.5 mm. This is due to the fact that from the depths of the volcano in this marvelous pond all the time portions of matter come. Naturally, there is no flora and fauna in the basin or in its vicinity.

What are still known dead lakes, read on.

Source of sulfuric acid

The island of Sicily (Italy) is famous for many places of interest, but the road to the lake of death for local residents and tourists is closed. This is a lifeless place. There are no trees and grass growing, there are no animals in the lake, birds do not come to its shores. And all because in the water is a lethal concentration of sulfuric acid, which comes here from underground sources.

Dead lakes have always been the object of fabrications and legends. They say that in the sulfur source, the Sicilian mafia hid the evidence of its crimes. This may be true, because if you drop a corpse in Lake Death, a couple of hours later, it will not even have teeth left.

Natron is a natural mummification

Above described are amazing dead lakes. The most interesting thing on Earth, perhaps, is Natron. It is located in Tanzania, Africa. The waters of this reservoir are painted in a purple color, their chemical composition is simply unprecedented! A huge amount of hydrogen and high alkalinity lead to the fact that any living thing that has risked approaching water, dies and mummified. On the surface floats mummies of swans, ducks, the coast is dotted with petrified petty animals ... The plot for the horror film.

"Empty" is the correct name

This dead lake in Russia is really empty. It is located in Western Siberia, and there is no life in it at all, although all the ponds around are simply teeming with fish. Scientists took samples of water, soil, measured the level of radiation. All indicators are normal, however, any attempts to populate the Empty with fish end in failure. Carp, perch, pike - all perish.

Plants on the coast and in the water, too, do not grow. Activists several times planted the coast with trees, but they all rotted. Explain this strange phenomenon, scientists are not yet able to, not even put forward a whiter-less plausible version.

Chabeckel is a dead lake

Altai, a republic in the Ulagan district, is known for a 3 km long lake with a width of 70 to 500 m and a depth of no more than 33 m. In the local dialect it is called "Cheybekkel", which means "elongated". There is no fish in it, the water surface does not attract birds, animals bypass it. According to legend, the place is inhabited by evil spirits. In fact, everything is much simpler and sadder. It's just that the Aktashsky mercury deposit has been developed for many years in this region, which also pollutes the waters of Cheybekkel.

Karachay

This reservoir is in the Urals. In the middle of the last century everything here was green, the waters were swarming with fish, dragonflies flew in the reeds. However, later, liquid radioactive waste was discharged into the lake. Today this absolutely lifeless place is considered the most polluted in the world. Only a few hours on shore is enough to irradiate radiation with hundreds of X-rays, which entails an imminent death.

To improve the environmental situation, the state annually allocates hundreds of thousands of rubles, but it is extremely difficult to solve the problem.

Described dead lakes of the world attract tourists from all over the world. Many people want to see with their own eyes that such phenomena do exist, approach the mystery, touch the riddle.

Living Water - Dead Water

In Israel there is the famous Dead Sea, which from the geographical point of view is also a lake. There is no fish here, as the waters are fed with salt, the concentration of which is constantly growing, although primitive crayfish and bacteria are found.

The Dead Sea is known for its amazing properties. Salts and therapeutic mud are widely used in the fight against many diseases of the skin, joints, genitourinary and cardiovascular systems, bronchopulmonary inflammations. For its miraculous power, the lake water is called "alive".

The unique Sol-Iletsk

This salt lake in Russia is analogous to the Dead Sea in Israel. It is located in the Orenburg region, and until recently few people have heard of it. However, scientists, having investigated its water, came to the unequivocal conclusion that it possesses strong healing properties. Those who took baths there were steadily improving their health.

Doctors recommend coming here in the summer to restore strength after a long illness, restore the nervous system, to treat mental disorders. Mud Sol-Iletska very well heal wounds, various skin lesions, including psoriasis, atypical dermatitis.

Other dead ponds with "living" water

Salt Elton is one of the largest mineral lakes in the world. It is located in the Volgograd region.

The Big Spring is the pearl of the Altai Territory. Its waters are extremely rich in salts. Complex chemical reactions taking place in the lake make it a real medical laboratory.

In Khakassia there is Tus lake, the mud of which is known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. They relieve inflammatory processes, increase the body's defenses.

In the Astrakhan region is located the salt lake Baskunchak. Its waters are characterized by spasmolytic, analgesic and wound healing properties.
