"Woe from Wit", Griboedov: a brief summary of the current work

"Woe from Wit" is one of the classic works of Russian literature, the theses of which remain relevant today. The work "Woe from Wit", Griboyedov, whose brief content is in demand today not only in the course of the school or college program on literature, but also in life, is truly the pearl of Russian classics.

Sophia, the daughter of Famusov, at dawn, is engaged in playing music with Molchalin, subordinate to his own father. The maid Lisa makes sure that no one becomes aware that the dad's daughter wanted to do music at such an early hour, and that no one thought anything extra about the girl.

Suddenly Famusov himself appears and begins to follow after Lisa, who is more and more worried about Sophia. Finally, the father of the family leaves the room, in a few moments Sophia and Molchalin enter. Barely Lisa has time to make them suggestion and tell about the arrival of Famusov, as the latter appears on the threshold. So begins the novel "Woe from Wit". Griboyedov, whose summary of the work is considered in this article, speaks about the comic situation, but the heroes are not to laughing at all.

Sophia tells her audience about her dream, trying to hint to her father about the exalted feelings for the poor and timid Molchalin. However, Famusov reacts quite harshly, saying that a person without money in his pocket can not become a pair for his daughter, after which he advises her to lie down, and he himself goes to sign documents accompanied by Molchalin.

The daughter of Famusov admits to Liza in her feelings for Molchalin. For the sake of love, she is ready to renounce her good name and go across public opinion. Liza categorically opposes Sophia's feelings and reminds her of the existence of Chatsky, in whom she was once in love, but now she does not want to hear about him. Such represented the young girls of his era in "Woe from Wit" Griboyedov. The brief content of the story conveys the mood of the time in which it was decided to act according to the dictates of the heart, not the mind.

Suddenly Chatsky comes to the Famusovs' house, who was brought up here earlier. For several years he traveled, and now he wants to see Sofia directly from the road. Further - worse, he says that she is too cold to him, and he rushed on horseback for almost two days. In their dialogue, even a hint of love did not indicate Griboedov. "Woe from Wit", the content of which we are considering, clearly shows how the destruction of love and the fading of the past feelings are taking place.

Famusov appears and talks with Chatsky. Sophia in the meantime eludes. CHATSKY for a while responds to the trivial cues of the interlocutor and tries to translate the topic of the conversation to Sophia, after which he leaves. Famusov is trying to understand who exactly his husband wants in the husband: Chatsky or Molchalin.

After a while Chatsky returns to Famusov's house and talks with the father of the family. Between them flared up conflict, which, it would seem, is settled only with the advent of Skalozub. However, even at the guest Chatsky allows himself to scold the landlord of the house, and Famusov leaves for the office. After a little dialogue between Chatsky and Skalozub, the latter goes there. Scandals, mental torments and riddles of the human soul filled his novel "Woe from Wit" Griboyedov. The summary of the work indicates the irresistible desire of the hero to understand the vicissitudes of the house of Famusov.

Throughout much of the work, Chatsky tries to find out who Sofia likes: Skalozub or Molchalin, forgetting that it would be nice to find out how she treats himself. In his attempts to understand the simple truth Chatsky becomes the object of universal ridicule, some seriously consider him mentally abnormal. However, not so new and elected the turn of the plot of his work Griboyedov. "Woe from Wit," whose heroes are hopelessly stupid and unable to accept into their society a truly intelligent person, is full of examples of naivety, greed and hypocrisy.

The result of the story is natural: it turns out that MOLCHALIN, in general, does not feel any feelings for Sophia and is with her only because of career prospects. Chatsky, seeing the madness that is happening in the Famusovs' house, decides to simply retire, so as not to be ridiculed and disgraced.
