The drug "Losek MAPS" is an anti-ulcer drug. Active ingredient: magnesium omeprazole. The active substance has an effect on the last phase in the formation of hydrochloric acid. This effect is dose-dependent. Omeprazole provides an effective reduction in stimulated and basal secretion.

Maximum efficiency is noted for four days. With peptic ulcer in the duodenum, the drug "Losek" at a dosage of 20 mg contributes to a steady decrease in gastric secretion by at least 80% throughout the day.

The effect of the drug in combination with antibacterial agents leads to the eradication (destruction) of Helicobacter pylori. This allows us to shortly terminate the symptoms of pathology, achieve a high level of recovery of the damaged mucosa, as well as long-term remission. The medication reduces the likelihood of bleeding in the digestive tract, eliminates the need for prolonged antiulcer therapy.

The drug is prescribed for peptic ulcer (including those associated with Helicobacter pylori) and duodenal ulcers, erosive lesions in the gastroduodenal GI tract (including those in HIV-infected) associated with the use of NSAIDs. "Losek" means the instruction also recommends for acid-dependent dispaepsy, gastroesophageal reflux, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Tablets should be taken in the morning, swallowing whole, not chewing. Drink the product is recommended a sufficient amount of liquid. Tablets "Losek" instruction allows to dissolve in slightly acidified liquid (juice, for example) or plain water. The solution must be applied no later than half an hour.

For HIV-infected patients, treatment with medication Losek allows the instruction together with the main HIV-therapy. The average course is about four weeks.

A peptic ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori involves several therapeutic regimens. This or that method is selected by a specialist.

Individual dosage regimen is established for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The initial dose per day is 60 mg.

The drug is contraindicated in hypersensitivity.

The use of the drug "Losek" in lactation and pregnancy is carried out on the recommendation and under the supervision of a doctor.

When taking the drug in rare cases, there is drowsiness or insomnia, paresthesia, blurred vision, dizziness, depression or arousal, headache, confusion, hallucinations.

Also, the use of the drug "Losek" can cause nausea, constipation, flatulence. In rare cases it is noted: Candidiasis of the digestive tract, stomatitis, dry mouth, jaundice, hepatitis.

As a rule, undesirable manifestations in the use of the drug "Losek" are short-lived, are reversible. In general, as practice shows, the medicine is transferred well enough. However, before using, you need to read the annotation and consult with a specialist.
