Cottage cheese casserole with apples - hello from childhood

Probably, many of us in the childhood did not really like the food, which was given to us in the kindergarten - manna porridge with lumps, buckwheat porridge with milk and many more. In any case, I'm from this number. I liked home food much more. But all the same it was in my sadikovo childhood that for which I was happy to go to the kindergarten on Thursdays. Why on Thursdays? Yes, because it was on Thursday afternoon that we were waiting for a curd casserole with apples, dried apricots, raisins, prunes, and sometimes even a curd casserole with pumpkin ( I hated the pumpkin , but loved it so much that I ate it all even with pumpkin). This is the only dish that I did not just eat in the garden, but I would not refuse the supplement if it were given. The most, of course, my favorite was a cottage cheese casserole with apples, the second place was occupied with casserole with dried apricots, and the third with raisins.

Today I myself already know how to cook such a yummy and rejoice at the same time their household. By the way, they, like me, like casserole with apple stuffing, probably, because I cook it more often. Casserole from cottage cheese with apples is made very simply and quickly. The following products will be needed: 0.5 kg of home-made cottage cheese (or 2 packets of store), 2 tbsp. Spoons of flour, 100 grams of butter, 4 tbsp. Spoons of sour cream, vanillin (1 sachet), 4 tbsp. Spoons of sugar, 2 chicken eggs, breadcrumbs (you can use semolina) to sprinkle the mold, salt to taste (if you want) and, of course, apples in an amount of 2-3 pieces, depending on the size.

Let's start cooking. Separate the egg yolks from the proteins. In the yolks, add 2 tbsp. Spoons of sugar and rub until a homogeneous mass is obtained. In proteins, add the remaining sugar and whisk thoroughly so that it looks like a thick foam. Beat the mixer better - faster and better, but you can do without it. In a deep bowl we spread cottage cheese, we add vanillin, butter and sugar-yolked yolks to it - we mix it to a creamy state. Then add to the resulting mass whipped with sugar proteins and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Apples are mine beforehand, cleaned from the core and peel and cut into thin slices. The rind can also not be removed from the apple, but without it the casserole turns out to be more gentle.

Lubricate the form for baking with butter and sprinkle breadcrumbs (or semolina) with a thin layer. Lay out a layer of half of the resulting cottage cheese mixture and gently level with a spoon. Then we spread the lobules of apples so that they cover the entire surface of the curd mixture and "cover" with a layer of the remaining half of the curd mass. We lubricate the top with sour cream and spread it over the surface. Bake such a cottage cheese casserole with apples in a preheated oven (200-220 оС) for about 40-45 minutes. Ready casserole can be sprinkled on top of the powdered sugar, and you can serve it with jam, honey, syrup, jam, sour cream, etc.

Some features and tips in cooking:

  1. If the cottage cheese is taken home, bought in the market, then it must first be passed through a sieve so that it is softer. The dough in this case will be easier to bring to a homogeneous state.
  2. Proteins and yolks in the absence of time or desire can not be divided, but mixed with sugar all together. But if you beat the squirrels separately, the casserole turns out to be much more tender and airy.
  3. Apples, as already mentioned, can be peeled, and can be left with it. You can cut into slices and lay in the middle between the curd mass (as mentioned above), but you can put it on top of the curd mixture and slightly sip. Sour cream in this case will not be necessary, and the casserole will turn out not only tasty, but also beautiful. Another option is to cut the apples into cubes and mix with the curd mass.

For lovers of delicious and useful to eat any curd casserole (with apples, berries, fruits, candied fruits, etc.) can become a favorite treat, reminiscent of childhood.
