Corn in the oven: cooking recipes

Corn, baked in the oven, is a delicious and simple dish. In the article we will consider several recipes, and also tell you how to properly prepare this cereal for baking.

Preparation

Regardless of the method of preparation, be it corn, in the oven baked or boiled, the cereal must be properly selected. During the purchase, make sure that the grains are translucent and juicy, and the shell is bright green. Shriveled and dried fruits do not interest us.

Before baking, remove the fibers and casing, and then rinse the cobs. Further, the corn sinks into boiling water for 5-10 minutes. If you are sure that you have got young and absolutely fresh fruits, then you can do without preliminary digestion.

To bake cereal, you need foil. Instead, you can use corn leaves. In one piece of foil you can lay two cobs.

In the process of baking, periodically turn the corn so that it does not burn out on one side.

Served in hot or warm form.

A simple recipe

How is corn cooked in the oven? The recipe depends on what result you want to receive. Here's the easiest way:

  1. Prepared corn cut in half or several pieces - depending on the size of the cob. You can just cut the fruit, and then break it with your hands.
  2. If using foil, then pre-prepare a few pieces about 20 by 30 centimeters in size. In the center of each of them place a piece of butter at a rate of approximately 1 tablespoon per 1 ears. Wrap corn in foil.
  3. If instead of foil you use your own leaves of corn, then peeled cobs with leaves, and one of the leaves or rope bind the fruit.
  4. Place the corn on a baking sheet and send it to a 200-degree oven.

How long will the corn be roasted in the foil in the oven, depends on whether you brewed its ears before it or not. On average, it takes 15-30 minutes. The readiness of the cereal can be determined by soft grains.

Taste preferences are also important, since in places where corn is in contact with a baking sheet, the cobs can be browned. This is normal, so if you like a well-roasted grain, then more time is needed.

Instead of creamy, you can take olive oil, as well as sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard.

Baking with cheese and garlic

Baked corn in the oven in foil, the recipe of which we now represent, will require a little more time, but the result is worth it.

Three cobs will need 2 tbsp. Tablespoons butter, 1 tbsp. Spoon of grated Parmesan, 1 teaspoon of granulated (or chopped fresh) garlic and salt. Spices can take any and in the amount appropriate to your taste.

  1. Grease each oat with butter, sprinkle on all sides, sprinkle with spices and granulated garlic.
  2. Wrap each ears in foil.
  3. Bake in the oven for 30-60 minutes.

Corn with bacon

For 4 cob, prepare 8 slices of bacon, 120 grams of salty butter, a small bunch of fresh cilantro, 1 lime, salt and pepper to taste.

  1. Lime cut into 4 parts. With one of them a small grater, peel off the peel.
  2. Finely chop the greens.
  3. Mix in a bowl of lime zest, greens and butter. Rub with a spoon.
  4. Each ears chop the juice of one lime slice. All the grains must soak them.
  5. Eat into the ears a prepared mixture of greens, oils and zest. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Wrap each fruit with two slices of bacon.
  7. Wrap each ears in a double layer of foil and lay on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes.

Baked corn with sour cream and honey

As you can see, if there are boring dishes, then this is definitely not baked corn in the oven in foil. Recipe can always be diversified, spending a minimum of effort. For example, give the seeds a unique aroma and taste with the help of sour cream sauce.

For 4-5 ears prepare a couple of tablespoons of sour cream, 1 or 2 teaspoons of mustard, a tablespoon of honey. Salt to taste.

  1. Prepared cobs salt salt, tightly wrap in foil and send to the oven for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Mix well in a bowl of salt, honey and mustard.
  3. Before serving, pour the baked corn with sour cream.

Corn in batter

Depending on the cooking methods and sauces used, corn in the oven may well turn into a festive dish. For example, if you bake cereal in batter. In this case, even the foil is not needed, but the corn must be pre-cooked.

For 5 ears, cook 3 eggs of chicken, a third of a glass of milk, 3 tbsp. Spoons of sunflower oil, 2/3 cup of flour. Salt to taste.

  1. Separate the proteins from the yolks and rub the latter with the oil.
  2. Add milk and salt to the yolk-oil mixture. Stir.
  3. Pour the sifted flour and stir again.
  4. Whip the whites and pour them into the batter.
  5. Cook the corn cobs in a batter and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Preheat oven to 170 degrees and bake corn for half an hour.
