Competition "Safe Wheel"

The "Safe Wheel" competition is an annual test festival that is held among young traffic inspectors. Volunteer detachments of schoolchildren who advocate safe behavior on the roads participate in it. The children demonstrate rules to preschool children and schoolchildren of lower grades. The competition instills respect for traffic rules, promotes discipline and unites participants. Developed team spirit and ability to work in a team.

The contest process

According to the program of the contest "Safe Wheel" pupils are first selected at the local level (local competitions), after - at the regional level. The winners get to the finals, which are held all over Russia. The team that wins will receive the "Safe Wheel" cup, which will pass every year to a new owner.

In the process of testing, children are given special uniforms, and they show their skill in safe driving on the roads in natural conditions with the help of necessary requisites. Tests require quick reaction and savvy.

The competition is sponsored by various production associations, providing the equipment necessary for testing.

Competition Policy

The aim of the event is to develop law-abiding by the new generation with participation in the road traffic. Prevention of homelessness and the formation of a culture of healthy lifestyles is the main competitive motto. The "safe wheel" solves the following problems:

• Reducing the number of injuries in children on the roads.
• Improvement of the control system for child abandonment.
• Prevention of violations of the rules among children.
• Strengthening knowledge of traffic rules.
• Attraction of new participants to the movement for safe behavior on the roads.
• Creation and replenishment of detachments of young traffic inspectors.
• Attraction of new participants to physical culture and sports.

During the competition, the theoretical knowledge of the traffic rules is tested, passes testing for the provision of first aid, as well as competitions in driving a bicycle and passing tests in a special area of the car.

Team composition and other rules

To participate in the final of the contest "Safe Wheel" the team is accepted from 4 people (two boys and two girls each). Children should not be born before 2002.

Some rules for the "Safe Wheel" are suggested:

• Each participant should have a personal diary.
• During the competition, players are not allowed any means of telephone and radio communication.
• Participants in case of a fall can resort to help at the place where they were injured, etc.

Stages of the contest

Competition "Safe Wheel" involves 5 stages (stations) for the knowledge and practical application of traffic rules and one creative contest in which originality and ability to perform on stage are judged.

First step

Examination for testing theoretical skills for traffic police experts. Here the guys show their knowledge of the signals of the traffic controller and traffic signs, all the rules of safe behavior on various sections of roads and demonstrate the ability to observe and evaluate the situation. All participants should have an idea of how to equip a cyclist.

Knowledge is revealed in one of the ways:

• Written examination of tickets;
• Testing on the computer.

At the competition, the children are collected indoors with a huge screen, opposite which there are about 16 tables - for each one sits only one participant. At this station comes 4 teams unaccompanied. Children can be observed by their relatives only from special sites. If technically allowed, participants fill out the answers in electronic form.

Second phase

Test with elements of practice on the knowledge of the basics of first aid. For this competition special medical equipment is allocated , with the help of which the children show their skills and answer additional questions.

At the station, two teams are tested simultaneously. Accompanying persons are also not allowed. All participants draw tickets. Everyone must do all that is necessary for his task within one minute. The competition is overseen by the chief referee, who assigns seats to participants and evaluates them, as well as an assistant asking additional questions.

In the event that the task is not completed, the team will be penalized. Discipline should also be strictly observed. Penalty points affect the future of the team.

During the contest "Safe Wheel" a diary of each participant is kept, in which his points are noted. Upon completion of the game, the document is returned to the child.

In the competition, a video recording of the event is made. Judges review all the materials before the evaluation.

Stage Three

The contest "Safe Wheel" at this stage is held in the motor-car. The test takes place indoors, which simulates the conditions of the road. This is a test for speed and response. Children should cross a bunch of control points on a bicycle for a certain time and at the same time adhere to all the rules, traffic signs, gestures of the regulator and marking.

The necessary road signs, traffic lights and markings, as well as different types of intersections, must be provided in the car.

The whole station is divided into three sectors: the motor city itself, a playground for spectators and a place for technical training of bicycles.

At this stage, simultaneous participation of 5 teams is allowed.

Stage Four

Checking the ability to drive a bicycle. A test site is provided. Each participant demonstrates more than 5 elements of figure driving. Tests are determined in the process of draw lots.

The station assumes several sites with obstacles. Their number is determined by the judge. The zone is also divided into sectors. The video is allowed to be filmed by the viewers of the contest, which must be in a specially designated place. There is a training ground.

At this stage of the "Safe Wheel" contest, no more than 5 teams participate at a time. Before the test, all participants are instructed. The guys ride in protective gear, each before choosing the test chooses his own bike. Only one person participates in one race.

At the end of the trial, the judges fill out a special protocol for each child.

Stage Five

Theoretical test for testing the general knowledge of the fundamentals of life safety. Here the guys show their knowledge of road signs. Tell us how a bicyclist should behave in pedestrians and in other conditions.

The zone of this station is divided into three categories. For each part, children are offered tablets measuring 1 m × 1 m with tasks. The first - with the task and a model of traffic, the second - about the safe way home, and the third - on the knowledge of the theoretical bicycle course. Each tablet suggests several variants of questions.

At the same time, no more than 3 teams without attendants are eligible to participate in this trial. The guys in the draw process draw out the tablet number and sit down for the task. The time is given up to 2 minutes. The results are recorded using photo and video equipment. After the team, they change by lot and perform other tasks.

When passing the test, the guys can be consulted with their team.

Creative contest

In the last test, the guys perform on stage. This is the creative stage of the contest "Safe Wheel". In the stage form, the children show miniatures about the rules of the road. For this purpose the optimal scenario of the contest "Safe wheel" is chosen. The guys are in full dress. The jury will evaluate each team on a 10-point scale according to the following criteria:

• Evaluation of creative abilities ;
• Conformity to the theme of the competition;
• Quality of the presented scenario;
• Originality and completeness of the composition;
• Lucidity and completeness of the disclosure of the topic;
• Interaction with the audience, etc.

Each member of the jury fills in a separate form with his personal assessment.

The results of the competition are posted in public places, where people can see the list of teams with scores and winners.
