Care of cats - subtleties and secrets
Usually care for cats begins with combing out. This is necessary for any pet, as the animal molts, and the dead hair must be removed. Of course, the owners of shorthair cats need less effort to ensure that the hair of tailed daughters looked healthy and beautiful. They are combed 2 times a week, whereas their long-haired brethren should spend this procedure on a daily basis.
Cats are very clean. They devote a lot of time to thoroughly cleaning their skins. However, this is not enough for complete hygiene, sometimes the cat should be washed. This happens if the animal, for example, gets dirty in something. It is also necessary to wash the pet before the show.
Features of care for animals of some breeds
It is known that Persian cats are especially complex in this respect . Care for them is not limited only to an attentive attitude towards dense and long wool. In addition, you need to monitor the condition of the eyes, because of the particular structure of the muzzle, they practically shut off the tear ducts, and the discharge from the eyes remains outside. You need to clean them every day.
Care for cats so-called "plush" breeds (British, Scottish) is complicated by the structure of fur, which consists of two layers. Such animals need to be combed very well with a brush-puerper over the wool and against it. For this procedure, you can use a dry shampoo or a special grooming powder.
Specialized Care
In the life of the animal, there are periods when it particularly needs our care. So, for example, the performed sterilization operation, like any other surgical technique of treatment, implies besides usual care also the observation of the wound and its treatment. Care for a cat after sterilization begins with the organization of a warm dry place for it. It is better to use a box for this purpose. On the couch, bed or chair you can not place the animal. When the anesthesia stops, the cat will try to get up and go, from the elevation it will fall. The seam on the abdomen should be treated as the vet will tell. Usually it is done twice a day, use a gauze napkin, moistened with peroxide.
