Tibetan Shih Tzu - a dog that drops eyes

Shih Tzu ("the dog that has eyes fall out") belongs to the group of decorative dogs. For the first time these animals appeared in Tibet. Like everything in this mysterious country, the origin of the shih-tzu breed is covered in gloom. However, some information can be learned by studying the basic religion of Tibet - Lamaism, which is one of the offshoots of Buddhism. According to this religion, there is a certain being called Manjushri. It is the embodiment of wisdom and travels in the company of a small dog that can turn into a lion. Obviously, this legend refers to the breed of Lhasa Apso, which, as a result of crossing with Pekingese, gave birth to amusing shih-tzu. In the US and Europe, they appeared only in the 30s, after which they became one of the most favorite breeds of decorative dogs.

If you have purchased a dog of Shih Tzu breed, do not be afraid that it is notorious as a breed of dogs whose eyes fall out. The main thing is proper care and attention to the pet. Every day, it is necessary to carefully comb the hair of the pet in order to avoid the formation of tangled lumps. The dog also needs to bathe regularly, even if she stubbornly does not want to stomp in the bathroom. After water procedures, the pet should be thoroughly dried, otherwise it will fall ill. Watch out there, so that the microclimate is not too wet or hot, shih-tzu do not tolerate it. Dogs of this breed are extremely prone to tooth loss, so dental hygiene needs to be given special attention. And yet, why is a shih tzu a dog that has eyes that drop out?

It's very simple: on a par with teeth, the eyes are the most vulnerable part of the dog. However, not only this breed has problems with eyeballs. With the same misfortune, direct relatives of Shih Tzu - Pekinese are often encountered. Speaking about the fact that shih-tzu eyes drop out, the owners, more often than not, imply what the doctors would call the displacement or loss of the eyeball. This is the effect when the apple leaves the orbit and is outside the eyelids, partially or completely. The main cause of this pathology may be a banal eye injury or a temporal fossa. It can also be affected by the peculiarity of the structure of the bone orbit of dogs - it is not closed, but limited to a ligament which, as a result of any damage, can stretch, causing your pet to be called a "dog with eyes falling out." To cure such trauma it is possible only surgically.

As for the character of shih-tzu, it is rather difficult to raise small fidgets, although they are eager to please the owner in everything. However, if you are a consistent and persistent mentor, sooner or later the dog will turn into an obedient pet, since this breed is very intelligent and capable of rapid training with the right approach. It should be taken into account that Shi-Tzu will not react to punishments, or to the rude treatment, so for the faults one should not resort to physical punishments, which, incidentally, may serve as a reason that instead of a nice shih-tzu you will have a dog , In which the eyes fall out.

To your dog was cheerful and happy, you need to walk with her daily and play as much as possible. Since this breed is rather small, such dogs can be safely kept in an apartment without fear that the pet will be cramped and uncomfortable. However, the ideal option for shih-tzu is a small fenced yard with a green lawn where the dog will frolic.
