Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children and children.

First aid skills can be useful to people anywhere: on vacation, on the street, and sometimes at home. Especially it concerns children, after all they take in a mouth all successively, mother enough to distract for some seconds that the dangerous subject has appeared in respiratory ways of the kid. Therefore, everyone should know what cardiopulmonary resuscitation is and how to perform it.

The whole algorithm of actions is based on three points:

  • Restoration of the passage of the respiratory tract
  • Restoration of respiration
  • Restoration of blood circulation

How to release the airways?

If the child is conscious, but can not speak, breathe or cry, then there is a foreign object in his respiratory ways.

To remove it, the Heimlich's method is used:

  • A very small child can be put on his knees face down and pat on the back.
  • If it does not help, then it is necessary to stand behind the victim, grab it at the waist level, close your hands at the level of the xiphoid process (the lower edge of the sternum). At the same time, one hand is clenched into a fist, and the other is clasped. It is necessary to make some confident shocks directed upwards and inwards. Most often this is enough for the child to breathe.
  • Slime or vomit is removed from the mouth with a finger on which a tissue or tissue is wound.

The difficulty of breathing in a baby can be associated with Quinck's swelling, when the laryngeal mucosa swells as a result of an allergic reaction, in which case an eruption on the body may be an additional symptom. Parents whose children are prone to such reactions always have antiallergic drugs in the medicine cabinet , as well as prednisolone, which is injected intramuscularly in an emergency.

In any case, you need to call an ambulance. If there is a person, it is done immediately, and if not, then after a two-minute attempt to restore breathing.

How to restore breathing and circulation?

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children is slightly different from the technique that is performed by adults.

First of all, bleeding stops if there is a wound. Only after that you can act. To get air into the respiratory tract, the head needs to be thrown back, the roller is placed under the neck from the tissue, and the chin is pushed forward. Bending over the child you need to understand whether he breathes on his own or not. If there are no signs of life, cardiopulmonary resuscitation is needed.

It is necessary to lay the victim on something solid, and make sure that his respiratory tract are passable. For this purpose, the nose is clamped and the air is inhaled twice. If the paths are free, then the chest will rise. In order to observe this, it is necessary to sit face to the feet of the victim.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is the saving of life, that is, the restoration of blood circulation and respiration.

If the chest does not rise, you need to repeat the reception of Heimlich again, and if the air arrives, it will continue in this algorithm:

  • Make him two breaths "mouth to mouth", while holding the nose, with an interval that is needed to let the air out. At very small children air is inhaled immediately in a mouth and in a nose. The air intake and outlet must be slow.
  • Then sit on the side, put your hand on the sternum and make 30 pressure with the base of the palm. The fingers should not touch the breast. If the child is small, it is sufficient to press the index and middle fingers. The chest should be pressed no more than 2.5 cm. The speed is 100 movements per minute.
  • Then again, repeat two mouth-to-mouth inhalations.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an alternation of pressure and inhalation in a ratio of 15: 2. The activities should be repeated until an ambulance arrives or until the child signs signs of life.

Doctors should assess the situation, so you need to remember when exactly the assistance was started.

Pulmonary cardiac resuscitation is an effective way to save a person if you start it on time.
