REG of cerebral vessels. The advantages of the diagnostic method

Diagnosis of the disease is considered the main link in the treatment. This rule applies to all branches of medicine, especially the nervous system. The head and spinal cord are the main regulators of all body functions, so a mistake in diagnosing the pathology of these departments can cost the patient a life.

Mechanism of the brain and spinal cord

The brain is the central department of management of the whole organism. This is due to the fact that the functions of all organs and systems depend on it. When any stimulus is directed at any structure of our body (these can be skin, olfactory, visual, auditory or taste analyzers), the signal is always transmitted to the brain. From the center to the periphery (remote areas of the body) the nerve fibers and plexuses depart. Thanks to these formations, the brain controls all the structures of our body. The signal from any organ passes through the nearby nerve fibers to the main compartment: the head or spinal analyzer. In them, this information is processed and transformed. Then, along the innervation routes, it goes back to the organs, in which thereafter responds to the stimulus.

Methods for assessing the state of the brain

In order to determine whether the brain works well, to reveal the presence of pathological processes, it is necessary to carefully check its functions. This can be done with the help of special methods developed in modern medicine. These include EEG, REG of cerebral vessels, ultrasound diagnosis, CT, MRI. Each of these methods allows you to evaluate certain functions and diagnose neurological pathologies.

In most cases, cerebral diseases are associated with its vascular system. It can undergo ischemia (persistent lack of oxygen), thrombosis, embolism, inflammatory processes and destruction. In order to identify circulatory disorders, it is necessary to conduct REG of cerebral vessels, a photo of which will indicate the presence of pathology.

Indication for the study

Despite the fact that this type of diagnostics is widely spread all over the world, it is not done to everyone who wants it. For carrying out REG of cerebral vessels special indications are required. There are some pathologies in which this study is necessary.

  1. Headaches and dizziness of an unclear genesis, if the doctor can not establish the cause of these symptoms, one should suspect a disorder of cerebral circulation.
  2. Memory impairment can be caused by ischemic process, thrombosis.
  3. Atherosclerosis - with this disease, it is possible to close the lumen of any vessel in the body, including the brain.
  4. Arterial hypertension is dangerous by the development of hemorrhages and aneurysms.
  5. Head trauma is one of the indications for conducting REG of cerebral vessels, as it is dangerous for serious complications that need to be diagnosed urgently.
  6. Osteochondrosis of the cervical spine can promote the development of encephalopathy.

Rheoencephalography

REG of cerebral vessels is a noninvasive research method based on the action of electric current. This method of assessing blood circulation is not dangerous or painful, so it can be reapplied. When a weak electric current passes through the tissues of the brain vessels, their resistance changes, on the basis of this it is determined whether there is a pathology or not. The study allows assessing blood flow and venous outflow, the ratio of which can vary with different diseases. This method allows to give an opinion about the elasticity of vessels, their symmetry, tone, filling and resistance. The interpretation of the REG of cerebral vessels includes an assessment of all these indicators and the degree of their deviation from the norm.

Technique of research

The method does not require special preparation. The only condition is a patient's calm state during the research. The device for REG consists of several ropes, on each of which the electrode is located. They all join the surface of the patient's head. It is possible to use rubber bands for applying instruments, but it is more convenient to use special pastes to reduce the resistance of skin. The places of connection of the electrodes are the nose bridge, the region of the mastoid processes, the projection of the temporal artery and the large occipital opening. They allow us to assess the state of vertebrates, internal and external carotid arteries, as well as nearby smaller vessels.

REG of cerebral vessels to children

In order to assess the blood circulation in a child, they prefer the method of rheoencephalography. This is due to the harmlessness, safety and non-invasiveness of this study. Indications are suspicions of cerebral circulation disorders in newborns and young children. The study is conducted on the same principle as in adults. The difference is that the child at this moment is asleep. Usually, REG is performed 1,5-2 hours after the baby is fed. The result is a conclusion about the blood supply to both hemispheres of the brain.

The most informative and safe method, widely received, is the REG of cerebral vessels. Minsk doctors confirm this, the equipment of functional diagnostics cabinets almost always includes a rheoencephalograph.
