Purpose and construction

Any jack performs the function of raising the car to a certain height. But the device of a hydraulic jack has a certain feature, which is the height of the lift. This mechanism can lift the car up by 30-50 centimeters. At the same time, it is widely used among owners of SUVs, minibuses and light trucks. By its design, it differs somewhat from mechanical analogs. Thanks to the hydraulic mechanism, a person can lift a three-ton machine, applying such efforts that would be needed to lift the car. Also, such devices are widely used in service stations, car centers and tire shops.

What are the differences of hydraulics

To date, all the rolling mechanisms, including the hydraulic jack, differ in their load-carrying capacity. These devices can be designed for loading in two, three, four or even five tons. Usually the maximum load of the mechanism is marked on the shell of the structure. As a rule, vehicles designed for loading up to 2 tons are used to lift cars. But among our motorists, few people get a hydraulic jack for their cars, if only because for its price you can buy two mechanical jacks that will be the same functional. Three-tone instruments are widely used among owners of off-road vehicles. Five-ton jacks are designed for small- and medium-tonnage trucks, including buses and minibuses. Lifting height

The second difference between these mechanisms is, of course, the height of the lift. Most often, this indicator can be seen in the model of the jack itself. Thus, if the jack hydraulic bottle has the marking 195-350, this means that the lifting mechanism works in the range from 195 to 350 millimeters. For a passenger car, this height will be extremely large - such a device simply does not climb through the ground clearance of the car. With this marking, the jack is intended for off-road vehicles. For small trucks the mechanism with the marking 200-500 will go. That is, such a hydraulic jack can lift the car to a height of 50 centimeters. This, perhaps, is the whole difference of hydraulics.
