Anatoly Aleksin, "Homemade Composition": a brief summary. Letter from the past

In young readers, foreign fiction is very popular. On the question of what today should be read to children from Russian literature, not only Tolstoy and Chekhov's stories come to mind, but also the works of very talented authors of the Soviet period. Their list is extensive. More than one generation has grown on their books. But modern children, because of the mass dislike of reading, hardly heard about these authors. One of them is Anatoly Aleksin. "Homemade essay," the summary of which is the theme of this article, is a sad and kind history about the unsuccessful happiness.

About the benefits of reading

Heroes with a sensitive heart and a subtle soul created in his stories Anatoly Alexin. "Homemade essay," a summary of which is set out in this article, is a story about the boy Dima, an avid reader. He once fell into the hands of someone else's letter. But the boy was so fond of reading that he could not resist and put aside a message that was meant for another person. This story is a small work. But after reading it, the impression remains great.

Dima read all the books that were written for children of his age. And then he began to get acquainted with the works intended for a more adult audience. And one day, from the parent bookcase, he took out the "Great Encyclopedia." This book was voluminous and heavy, and it seemed to the boy that the one who mastered it would certainly become a highly educated person. And he proceeded to a fascinating reading.

Dima in the same spirit and would continue to expand his horizons, if he had not found a strange message in the encyclopedia. And with the help of this find, Anatoly Aleksin allows his hero to look into the past. "Homemade essay," the summary of which is based on the text of the letter, is a small work with two storylines. The first is Dima's story. The second is what happened long before his birth.

Dima and a letter from the past

In the volume of the encyclopedia, the boy accidentally found a notebook sheet, covered with unfamiliar handwriting. It was a letter. And it was written many years before it fell into the hands of a boy.

The author of fascinating subjects is Alexin. "Homemade composition", the summary of which is the history of a letter that reached the addressee after half a lifetime, is one of the characteristic works for the writer's work of the 70's and 80's. Alexin's heroes in the books of that time are children and teenagers who do not know wars, but feel her echoes.

Schoolboy's composition

Further on the content of the enigmatic letter is narrated by Aleksin. "Homemade composition" - this title had this message. Written by his pupil of the ninth grade. But most of all Dima was impressed by the one to whom it was addressed. This letter was intended for 1972. At the same time the author turned to a certain Vale.

Most of the story was dedicated to this message by Anatoly Aleksin. Homemade essay-writing was very touching and tender. From it it was clear that a certain Volodya, on the instructions of his teacher, wrote an essay. The theme of this creative task is "Letter to the Year". Which it does not matter. The author of the work chose 1972, the one that will come thirty years after the homework.

Letter from Vale

In this work there is warmth and sadness, as, indeed, in many of the stories that A. Aleksin wrote. The homemade work was more like a letter, as it was addressed to the girl Vale. The author addressed her, and it seemed impossible that anyone else could ever read these lines.

Volodya expressed confidence that in 1972 they would certainly be together: he and Valya. And he was glad that he knows for sure now about her indifference towards Leslie Filippov. After all, with Valya, they only visit the literary circle together. But years will pass, and she will marry not for Lesha, but for him, the author of this work. They will have two children. They will also work together. They will become surgeons. Their common goal will be to save people. "And for this it is worth living on the ground," - sums up his dreams Volodya.

Dreams that have not come true

This letter was addressed to Vale Filippova, a woman living on the floor above. She did not marry Volodya, but Alexei. But the son named in honor of the author of this letter. And Dima remembered the neighbor's woman with kind eyes. And Vladimir, a tall and awkward young man. And Alexey Petrovich Filippov.

Even in the prose about peaceful life, the subject of the war was often touched upon by Aleksin. "Homemade composition" (the main characters and the plot of this story are inextricably linked with the tragedy that occurred long before the birth of Dima) can be called a story about the dreams destroyed by the war. Volodya was killed in 1945. And after that February morning, when his mother, Dima's grandmother, received a funeral, she seemed to have died. Until that moment, she was cheerful and even loved to sing. But the child's death is impossible to endure. Her fun has died, the ability to enjoy life has died.

Grandmother told Dima about who Valya was. And the next day the boy went to watch Valentin Filippov near the entrance. He had to send a letter ...
