The Scandinavian Peninsula is the largest in Europe. It is characterized by an interesting history and picturesque landscapes. Many centuries ago the stability of the Baltic shield began to decline, which caused a slow flooding of the terrain. Its rise is approximately one centimeter per year. However, the other side of the peninsula is constantly lowered. For many thousands of years the Scandinavian peninsula was completely in glaciers.
