Why do people lie?

Quite a common question in our time, which everyone, well, or almost everyone, asked himself or, more likely, the search engine. Have we ever thought about how many times a day we say untruth, and most importantly why? People lie for many reasons, psychologists say, and do it at least 50 times a day. It is worth pondering over this.

So, the answer to the question of why people lie, should be considered in detail, namely - for individual reasons:

1. Fear of responsibility.

Indeed, sometimes untrue helps us to escape from the situation in which we should be responsible for something, for example, for organizing an important event. It's always easier to come up with a beautiful story, rather than explaining that we just do not have it before.

2. Lying is a joke.

Very often, many of us jokingly say that, in fact, they do not dare or simply do not want to talk seriously. There is also a lie unconscious, at a subconscious level, when the joke said without a backward thought is our thoughts.

3. Reluctance to offend anyone.

Of course, one of the most common types of lies. The question automatically disappears here, why. People lie, that the interlocutor or the opponent was not annoyed or awkward because of some kind of a cue, such lies, of course, for good. However, it should be borne in mind that sometimes people need to tell the truth in the eyes, but do it tactfully, so as not to make enemies and not surround themselves with an aura of misunderstanding.

4. Manipulation of people.

The most insidious form of lies, when deception is used to mislead a person for the purpose of gaining one's own benefit, perhaps to the detriment of his personal interests.

5. Desire to like.

Surely, each of us often uses lies in order to make a positive impression. But we only refuse to recognize this fact, considering that we only embellish our actual achievements. This method is used in many cases in employment, which ultimately leads to negative consequences, because in practice we can not confirm a significant part of the ideal summary.

Here are the most popular answers to the question of why people lie. Of course, there are other reasons that we are guided by, or they may not be at all, for example, an amazing deception "just so", not pursuing any specific goal.

The psychology of lies, in addition to why people lie, is also studying how to recognize a lying person. Specialists designate certain gestures (specific behavior), which, in most cases, are accompanied by false statements.

First, pay attention to the eyes, which at such times "run" and shine. However, everything depends on the situation, because the brilliance in the eyes may appear and because the person shares a joyful news, the main thing is to take into account the nuances.

Secondly, most of the gestures associated with touching a person are classified as exposing. Especially one should pay attention to the speech of a man who puts his hand to his mouth. This gesture at the level of the subconsciously peculiarly forbids him to share knowingly false information.

But I want to give advice: one should not blindly trust all the book recommendations of calculating a liar. The fact is that many of us have certain gestures, referred to the category of outstanding people with "giblets", are a commonplace habit.

Thus, it is obvious that the psychology of lies is quite interesting for studying, but at the same time it is complex. To understand why people lie, as well as in all the subtleties of human behavior during a lie, is given to not even every specialist - our inner world is so ambiguous . However, if you set a goal, then first you need to analyze yourself, why I lie exactly, what I drive, how I mask it, and so on. Perhaps the path to knowing the inner world of another individual is through the realization of one's own "I".
