Where was the Prophet Muhammad born and where is he buried? In what city was the Prophet Muhammad born?

Prophet Muhammad was born in 570, five centuries after Christ. This is the last "universally recognized" messiah, bringing to the world a new religion. Mormon can not claim such a status.

Muhammad and the birth of Islam

In Saudi Arabia, where the Prophet Muhammad was born, everyone knows this name. And not only there. Now the teaching of the prophet is known throughout the world.

Every Muslim and many representatives of other religions know in what city the Prophet Muhammad was born. Mecca annually serves as a place of pilgrimage for millions of faithful Mohammedans.

Not everyone shares this belief, but a person who has never heard of Muhammad and Islam is difficult to find.

A great teacher who brought a new message to the world takes the same place in the hearts of Muslims as Jesus - in the hearts of Christians. Here, too, are the sources of the eternal conflict between the Muslim and Christian religions. Those who believed in Christ condemned the Judaists, who did not recognize Jesus as the Messiah and remained faithful to the old precepts of their ancestors. Muslims, in turn, accepted the teachings of Messiah Muhammad and did not approve of the views of orthodox, in their opinion, Christians who did not listen to the good news.

Variants of spelling the name of the prophet

Every Muslim knows in what city the Prophet Muhammad was born (Mohammed, Mohamad).

Such a large number of options for reading the same name is due to the fact that the pronunciation of the Arabs is somewhat different from the usual Slavic ear, and the sound of the word can only be conveyed approximately, with inaccuracies. The version of "Mohammed" is generally classical gallicism, borrowed from European literature, that is, there was a double distortion.

However, one way or another, this name is recognizable in any version of the spelling. But the classic generally accepted option is still "Mohammed".

Muslim, Christian and Judaism

It should be noted that Muslims do not challenge the teachings of Christ. They honor him as one of the prophets, but believe that the arrival of Muhammad also changed the world, as Christ himself changed it 500 years ago. Moreover, Muslims consider sacred books not only the Koran, but also the Bible, and the Torah. Just the Quran in this doctrine is central.

Muslims claim that even the prophecies of the Bible, speaking of the coming of the Messiah, did not mean Jesus, namely Mohammed. They refer to the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 18, verses 18-22. It says that the messiah sent by God will be the same as Moses. Muslims point to obvious discrepancies between Jesus and Moissem, while the biographies of Moses and Muhammad are similar in some ways. Moses was not just a religious figure. He was a patriarch, a prominent politician and a ruler in the literal sense. Moses was rich and successful, he had a large family, wives and children. Indeed, in this respect, Mohammed is much more like him than Jesus. In addition, Jesus was conceived as a virgin, which can not be said of Moses. Prophet Muhammad was born in the city of Mecca, and there everyone knew that his birth was absolutely traditional - the same as that of Moses.

However, the opponents of this theory note that it also says that the Messiah will be "from the brethren", and so the ancient Jews could speak only of their fellow tribesmen. In Arabia, where the Prophet Muhammad was born, there were no Jews and could not be. Muhammad was descended from a worthy respected Arab family, but he could not be a brother to the ancient Jews, as is explicitly stated in the same Old Testament.

The Birth of the Prophet

In the VI century in Saudi Arabia, where the Prophet Muhammad was born, the majority of the population were pagans. They worshiped numerous ancient gods, and only individual clans were convinced monotheists. It was in this monotheistic monotheism that the Hoshim clan belonging to the Quraish tribe came into being and the prophet Muhammad appeared. His father died before the birth of the child, his mother died when the boy was only six. The grandfather, Abd al-Mutallib, a respected patriarch, famous for his wisdom and piety, was engaged in the education of little Mohammed. As a child, Muhammad was a shepherd, then he was taken to his uncle, a wealthy merchant. Muhammad helped him to do business, and one day, making a deal, he met a rich widow named Khadija.

Annunciation

The young trader was not only attractive outwardly. He was clever, honest, truthful, pious and benevolent. Muhammad liked the woman, and she invited him to marry. The young man agreed. They lived for many years in happiness and harmony. Khadija had given birth to six children to Muhammad, and he, despite the traditional polygamy in those places, did not take other wives.

This marriage brought prosperity to Muhammad. He was able to devote more time to pious thoughts and often retired thinking about God. To do this, he often left the city. One day he went to the mountain, where he especially liked to meditate, and there the angel appeared to the stricken man, who brought the revelation of God. So the world first learned about the Koran.

After this, Mohammed dedicated his life to serving God. At first he did not dare to preach in public, he just talked with those people who showed interest in this topic. But later Muhammad's statements grew bolder, he spoke to people, telling them about the new good news. Where the Prophet Muhammad was born, he was known as a man, undoubtedly religious and honest, but such statements were not supported. The words of the new prophet and the unusual rites seemed strange and ridiculous to the Arabs.

Medina

The tribesmen categorically denied the new faith, the few supporters of Muhammad were persecuted. Many were forced to flee, hiding from persecution.

Prophet Muhammad was born in the city of Mecca, but his homeland did not accept him. In 619 Khadizhda, Muhammad's beloved wife and his faithful supporter, died. Nothing else kept him in Mecca. He left the city and headed for Yathrib, where already the faithful Muslims lived. On the way to the prophet, an attempt was made, but he, being an experienced traveler and fighter, escaped.

When Muhammad arrived in Yathrib, he was greeted by admiring citizens and handed over to him the supreme authority. Muhammad became the ruler of the city, which soon renamed Medina - the City of the Prophet.

Return to Mecca

Despite his title, Mohammed never lived in luxury. He and his new wives settled in humble huts, where the prophet spoke to people, just sitting in the shade at the well.

Almost for ten years Muhammad tried to restore peaceful relations with his native city, Mecca. But all negotiations ended in failure, despite the fact that there were already quite a few Muslims in Mecca. The city did not accept the new prophet.

In 629, the troops of Mecca destroyed the tribal settlement of the Medina, which was with the Muslims, in friendly relations. Then Muhammad, at the head of a huge for those times ten thousandth army approached the gates of Mecca. And the city, impressed by the strength of the army, surrendered without a fight.

So Muhammad was able to return to his native places.

To this day, every Muslim knows where the Prophet Muhammad was born and where this great man is buried. The pilgrimage from Mecca to Medina is considered the highest duty of every follower of Mohammed.
