Where do they grow up

Going to the "quiet hunt", each mushroom picker would like to find a boil, as it is very appreciated for its taste qualities. But to collect this valuable mushroom, you need to know where the boletus grows, and how they look.

General information about the boletus

Each mushroom is different in taste and appearance. So, the boletus is beautiful, noble, with a bright hat (on average 5 cm) on a large thick stalk of the fungus (stretched to 20 cm). In different regions it is called "red-head", "Krasnyuk", "aspen", "red mushroom". Such names give an idea of how the boletus looks and where it can be found. Firstly, it's a mushroom with a red hat. But nevertheless, depending on the place where it grows, the external characteristics can vary. It is important to note that young specimens are not very similar to mature redheads.

Secondly, from the name you can understand where the boletus grows - near the aspen. But experienced mushroom pickers note that the aspen red-head does not occur so often. Usually he chooses mixed forests.

When you can find the boletus

Like most other mushrooms, these also grow in layers. Mushrooms of the first layer are called "kolosovikami" because they begin to collect at a time when winter crops are reaping. Usually this happens in early June. It is then that the first boobies begin to appear. But this crop is usually poor, and if you are lucky, the mushroom picker will find a few pieces. But in July the red-faced women begin to massively climb out of the ground. With small interruptions they grow up to the first October frosts.

And what if it's a toadstool ?!

Beginning mushroom pickers may not be very clear about the appearance of the boletus, and frightened of the vivid variety that they find on the "hunt". There can be doubt: but suddenly it's a toadstool. It is interesting that the boletus is an amazing fungus and, knowing how it looks, confuse it with another, especially with a poisonous fellow, it is simply impossible.

But still, in order not to doubt and know which mushroom you cut, you need to find out what the red-head looks like. It is interesting that the color of the cap entirely depends on where the boletus grows. So, we can distinguish several species of these fungi.

Yellow-brown asphodel

This representative is the largest of the boletus. Sometimes you can find an adult mushroom, whose hat in diameter reached 30 centimeters. On a white stalk with black-brown scales is a hemispherical cap of a boletus of yellow-brown color. If there is any doubt, whether it's a mushroom, you can look at the kink. Its white, dense pulp should turn pink and gradually become a purple flesh.

This species of the boletus occurs in mixed forests, where aspen, spruce and birch predominate. The mushroom likes sandy, peaty or stony soils.

Red aspen

This representative is distinguished by a rich red, sometimes brownish hat. Leg of mushroom is white, with light scales. His flesh is dense. At the break appears a purple color, but gradually darkens and acquires a practically black shade. This handsome man can be found in a young aspen forest, starting July and until October. If the summer turned out to be sultry, the red capercaillie can be found near perennial aspens.

White boletus

The name of this fungus suggests that both the cap and the leg are white, but only in youth. Over time, the bonnet becomes gray, and in its mature state it is dirty gray with a brown tinge. The fracture acquires a pink or bluish color, gradually becoming brownish-black. You can find it at the end of summer, and the collection continues in the fall. Where does the boletus with white hats grow? These mushrooms love mixed forests, where the predominant trees are pine, birch and aspen.

Podisinovik oak

This mushroom differs from other Podosinovikov velvet cap red-brick color. It is usually met in mixed oak-aspen forests.

Regardless of the species, the boletus in the forest chooses glades, edges and slightly damp areas. It can be found under the fern and in the shaded corners. If you stumble upon a single boletus, look for his "relatives" nearby.

Features of the Bottoms

Red-head grow fast enough. But also they soon become unfit, wormy and that's why it is better to collect them with young mushrooms (experienced mushroom pickers are called cubs). As already mentioned, the cheeks are not at all like an adult mushroom. Young specimens resemble a thimble, put on a finger. If the boletus is already old, it is better not to touch it, since it can start to spoil yet on the way home, in the basket. Also mushrooms tend to absorb radioactive substances from the soil and from the air. The older the fungus, the more he accumulated harmful elements.

Mushroom boletus: a description of the useful properties

Red-head on the cut quickly darkens, and this is due to its chemical composition. These mushrooms are very tasty and healthy. It contains proteins, dietary fibers, proteins, fatty acids, fats, B-vitamins, carbohydrates, disaccharides, monosaccharides. Also, the aspen beetle can enrich the body with potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus. The protein found in this fungus is easily digested.

After harvesting, it's important to go home immediately and start treating the mushrooms, as they quickly begin to deteriorate. If we put the boletus in the fridge, they will be gone. Brought mushrooms can be marinated, dried, salt or immediately cook some dish. It is worth noting that after cooking the mushroom acquires a black color, but this should not be frightened, since such a phenomenon is quite natural for a booster.
