From the phrase "World Ocean" there is a slight trembling in the soul. There is something massive and powerful, with beautiful colors, strange inhabitants and a gloomy, danger-dying bottom. And there is! A man who lives on land seldom thinks that every second somewhere in the water, such a mysterious life is bubbling or under water.

World Ocean

It is known that our planet mostly consists of water. Photographs from space, where the blue color predominates, is confirmed. In this case it is called the Earth, but not any "Water" or "Oceania". Do not forget that there is moisture in the earth itself.

Three quarters of the surface of the planet is occupied by water - the World Ocean. It is believed that it is one and simply divided by continents into different oceans. Therefore, when you hear about the Pacific, Arctic or other ocean, you know - it is only a part of the World Ocean.

The ocean is divided into four main parts: Pacific, Indian, Atlantic and Arctic. Each of them includes seas, bays and straits.

Already in the XV century, man sought to explore the World Ocean, navigators went on expeditions to study the boundaries of water spaces. Of course, at that time only superficial data were collected. The depths began to reveal their secrets much later, and today they are not fully understood. The inhabitants of the ocean often become heroes of artistic and scientific films, which are enjoyed with pleasure.

Alive organisms

Thanks to researchers, seafarers and operators of the sea depths, we know that life in the aquatic environment of the ocean also exists. Hardly can they themselves know and convey the diversity of underwater life, the beauty of the ocean floor and the power of water.

The vegetable and animal world of the ocean refers to living organisms inhabiting its space. Scientists derive classifications of species, subspecies and classes that make up these worlds.

The inhabitants of the ocean: animals, fish, mollusks, crustaceans, plants and many others - live their lives, not looking back at mankind and progress. The underwater life of the World Ocean is beautiful and unique, leaves a lot of mysteries to man.

Pacific Ocean

It is considered the warmest, largest and deepest. In the Pacific or the Great Ocean there are more than half of all living organisms of the World Ocean. Animals of the Pacific fascinate by their size, shape, color.

In the depths of it there are mammals of sperm whales, whales, as well as fur seals, dugans, crayfish, giant squid and many other representatives of marine fauna. The shark is an animal of the ocean, suggesting horror to people, here it is very common. In the ocean, several species of these fish live: blue, mako, fox, whale and other species. It is remarkable that in the Pacific Ocean, its seas meet unique species of sharks, whose representatives are no longer in other waters.

The number and diversity of the animal world of any ocean is affected by many factors: phytoplankton, current, water temperature and environmental contamination. The large Pacific garbage spot is a consequence of the person's negligent attitude towards nature, it causes enormous damage to the flora and fauna.

Fishing is thriving in the settlements on the shores. Most of the world catch, which falls on the table to the inhabitants of the planet Earth, is extracted from the Pacific Ocean.

Many animals of the Pacific meet in the Atlantic and Indian. But there are rare and unique representatives that live only here.

Indian Ocean

Its flora and fauna are extremely diverse. The third largest and deepest ocean is rich in unusual organisms that shine at night: certain species of jellyfish, peridini, shells.

The Indian Ocean under the water surface hides a variety of fish (korifenov, tuna, sharks), reptiles (turtles, snakes), mammals (whales, sperm whales, dolphins, seals, sea elephants). A lot of inhabitants and over the surface of the ocean: albatrosses, frigates, penguins.

A very beautiful and large animal of the ocean is the sea devil (or Manta). This is an amazing animal weighing more than two tons. It is noteworthy that the sea devil is an absolutely harmless creature. More recently, people considered him a bloodthirsty killer, but as it turned out, nature did not endow him with either deadly or defensive weapons. If on his way a carnivorous shark meets, he will surely say goodbye to life.

The food of this inhabitant of water spaces is plankton, larvae and small fish. It filters water, leaving edible in the mouth. It is noteworthy that the brain of this representative fauna is much larger than that of stingrays or sharks. The sea devil is very curious and likes to dive with the divers.

Environmental problems have affected the Indian Ocean, especially animals in the seas and oceans suffer from oil film.

Arctic Ocean

It is the smallest of the four parts of the World Ocean. Due to severe weather conditions, its flora and fauna is not so diverse. Most of the surface of the water is covered with ice, it drifts, freezing to the shores.

It should be noted that although the diversity of fauna species is much inferior here, the animals of the Arctic Ocean are larger and live longer than their counterparts from other waters.

The inhabitants of the coldest ocean are: fish (150 species), birds (30 species), seals, penguins, walruses, beluga whales.

Perhaps the most beautiful and dangerous animal of the ocean is a polar bear. This beautiful and powerful beast eats fish, seals, carcasses of dead whales and a bird. The white bear swims swiftly under the water all the year round and climbs up the ice floes in search of prey. The average life expectancy of a bear is 15-20 years, but very many die small - up to five years.

The environmental problems of the Arctic Ocean are the most acute issue, because in addition to pollution and the disappearance of some populations, here we are talking about melting ice and global warming.

Atlantic Ocean

The second largest ocean includes almost all species of the animal world of the entire Pacific Ocean. Such diversity has become possible thanks to the climate. The fauna of the Atlantic Ocean is distributed zonally, the Atlantic is famous for its borders and the number of ocean deserts.

Flora and fauna are very diverse. The brightest animal of the ocean, perhaps - flying fish. There are 16 species of flying fish. They "flutter" out of the water and lay eggs on any floating object.

Ecological problems of the world ocean

The development of civilization and technological progress bring to man a lot of useful and even vital, but it is this that destroys nature, and the World Ocean as well. Populations of many animals are lost irrevocably, species of animals and plants of marine depths disappear every year.

The activity and inactivity of man inevitably leads to sad consequences. And although the seas and oceans are under the tutelage of the UN and the special IMO unit, the future of the World Ocean is in danger.

People must protect the World Ocean for many reasons, the main of which are its resources and the "road" connecting the continents.
