What to see in Spain?

It's no secret that the holiday in Spain every year is becoming more popular. And most tourists choose to travel to Catalonia, where one of the most beautiful cities of the country - Barcelona is located. This choice is obvious. After all, if you list all the sights of this unusual city, then the answer to the question about what to visit in Barcelona, will take more than one day. And the sunny Mediterranean coast will allow every tourist to fully enjoy the traditional beach holiday. Therefore, most often it is Barcelona and its surroundings that Russian travelers choose for recreation.

The people of Catalonia are still arguing about when Barcelona was founded. According to the first version, in the 3rd century BC the legendary Hercules founded the first small settlement here. Then the development and establishment of the city was helped by the father of Hannibal, the Carthaginian of Barca. He largely rebuilt the city and named it after his family Barsino.

According to the second version, before the arrival of Barki on the site of the city, there were no settlements. But in any case, the history of the existence of Barcelona stretched for millennia. It is not for nothing that in the architecture of this southern city you can simultaneously see Moorish motives, Gothic cathedrals and ancient palaces. Surrealists had a great influence on the creation of the modern look of the city. There is no longer such a place in the world where there are so many buildings, parks, museums and temples made in this style. You can travel all day long around the city and add up your opinion about what to see in Spain first.

Buying a tourist tour, one must bear in mind that usually the first tour of Barcelona begins immediately, at the exit from the airport. Vacationers are transported through the streets of the city past the Columbus monument, to the observation deck to the fortress of Montjuic, where a beautiful view of the sea port of Barcelona and its surroundings opens. Also during this excursion the tourists find themselves at the Temple of the Holy Family - the most famous creation of the famous architect Antonio Gaudi, whose work on construction is still ongoing. Already in the first hours of the stay of the idea of what to see in Spain, smoothly turn into the question: how to have time and see everything?

If we talk about my personal impressions of the trip to Barcelona, the most memorable is the following.

  • All gingerbread houses Gaudi and Güell Park. And to explain, in what the magic of these, so similar to toys of architectural ensembles, is impossible. This must be seen.
  • The fountain of Magikas or singing fountains is a mesmerizing, magnificent spectacle, and absolutely free. During the show, classical music and famous world hits of our time sound.
  • Traveling by cable car is a beautiful view, a modern circuit. From the height above sea level and the seeming fragility of the glass cabin, it was simply breathtaking.
  • Slow walks around the area around and inside the Sagrada Familia. Here, once again, you are amazed at how the Catalans did not fear in one city to collect so many diverse and unusual buildings. It is interesting that this cathedral is being built on the donations of parishioners and work on final finishing is still underway.
  • Any Russian football fan on the question of what to see in Spain, you can answer: "Look how the Spaniards celebrate the victory of their team." A magnificent night spent on the streets of the city with fans of the world-famous football team of FC Barcelona after their victory in the UEFA Champions League was unforgettable. No fights, clarification of relations, drunken faces. Everyone danced, sang and had fun.

In the opinion of some tourists, walks along the Gothic Quarter and the Old Town are mandatory. Others try to go round all the places connected with Gaudi and Salvador Dali. For the third, it is important not only to learn about what to see in Spain, but also where to buy gifts and souvenirs to relatives and friends. No wonder around the world are famous for leather Spanish shoes and bags, noble wines, textile products and much more. But Catalonia is not the whole of Spain. What to see in this beautiful country, it is impossible to tell in one article.
