This fast, very dynamic and, at the same time, elegant game is gaining popularity all over the world. The term itself comes from a combination of the words "football in the hall."

What is futsal? This is a sports game, belonging to the category of command. In fact, it's the same classic football. The only and key difference is that players "drive" the ball not on the green lawn of the football field, but on hard parquet in an enclosed space.

The country of Uruguay can be considered the birthplace of futsal. The rules of this game was invented, in the 30s of last century, by a certain Juan Carlos Seriani. The World Futsal Association (AMF) was established only in 2002, although the first world championship in this sport was held in 1982.

Features of the game

Futsal is often confused with another similar game - mini-football. However, there are significant differences between them. If mini-football is a more technical game, in which the accuracy of passing passes is of particular importance, then futsal is a contact game where it takes a lot of time for a tough fight for the ball.

In fact, the split into two separate sports occurred only in the 80's. It was then that the term "futsal" first arose.

Answer the question "what is futsal?" It is impossible without understanding the rules of this game. So, matches are held on a smooth and hard surface (most often - from wood) of a rectangular area with parameters of 38 to 20 meters (not less). The width of the futsal gate is three meters, and the height is 2 meters.

The game involves two teams, each with five players. The number of possible substitutions for a match is unlimited. One game lasts, according to official rules, two halves of 20 minutes each. In the futsal allowed rolls (which distinguishes this sport from mini-football).

Futsal of Russia

They play this fascinating game in Russia. The first national championship in this sport took place in 1993. And the first championship in futsal got the capital club "Polygran". By the way, he is the absolute record holder in terms of the number of these titles (in total "Polygran" became the champion of Russia in futsal 5 times).

Since 1992, the country also regularly hosts the Russian Futsal Cup. The strongest futsal clubs in the state are the Moscow "Polygran", "Dynamo" and "Spartacus", as well as "Concentrate" from Yakutia.
