What is characterized by a diet with an ulcer of the duodenum?

Compliance with diet is the most important component of peptic ulcer therapy. A well-timed diet quickly brings an improvement in the condition, reduces pain and dyspepsia. Liquid or jelly-like food is recommended, which should be consumed frequently, no more than every 1.5 to 2 hours. Content in the daily diet of table salt is reduced to 5-7 g. The diet includes dairy products, milk or mucous soups from cereals, omelet or boiled soft-boiled eggs, berry and milk jelly, jelly. All other products, including bread and crackers, are excluded from the diet. It is useful to patients to drink broth of a dogrose which replaces tea. When it will be possible to eliminate or sharply reduce pain and dyspeptic disorders, they switch to diet No. 1b, where the patient needs to stay for two weeks. Non-strong tea, pasteurized milk, cream, white breads, non-acidic dairy products, steam cutlets, scrambled eggs, boiled meat and fish, various cereals, pasta dishes, vegetable puree, jelly, jelly, sweet fruit are allowed.

Diet for duodenal ulcer takes into account the features of the course of the disease, the presence in the history of complications, other diseases. A special correction requires a diet in the presence of a patient with peptic ulcer concomitant pancreatitis. In this case, a more stringent restriction of fats, digestible carbohydrates is required, despite the fact that patients tolerate the diet well, provided that enough fat is available. The feeling of hunger, especially characteristic for this disease with the localization of the ulcer in the pyloroduodenal region, with the addition of butter or vegetable oil is less. When there is heartburn during the night, it is recommended to drink a small amount of milk or cream. Compliance with the diet reduces the symptoms of stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer, prevents the development of complications and promotes recovery.
