What cats dream about: interesting studies

Have you ever wondered if the cats dream or not? To check whether your pet is asleep or asleep, call her loudly. If she, sweetly stretching and opening her eyes, looks at you detachedly, then turns on the other side and continues to lie peacefully, which means she is in Morpheus's control.

What do cats dream about?

Approximately one hour after the onset of full sleep, the REM period begins. In this state, the nature of brain activity changes dramatically: body temperature rises, heart rate increases, pressure rises. It is during this period of time that animals, just like people, dream. After numerous studies neurophysiologists at the University of Lyons came to the unequivocal conclusion that the cats only dreamed of an event that made them nervous or completely concentrated. And surprisingly, scientists have not found any evidence that cat's night "dreams" are romantic. If your pet during the dream will anxiously move his paws or suddenly, jumping up sharply, run after a nonexistent mouse, then she suffered a serious brain injury during a fall or stroke.

How do you know if a cat is sleeping or not?

If you put your hand on your pet, you will hear that he purred, which means that the kitten does not sleep, but sleeps, and that it is impossible for a cat to dream at this time. When your pet's eyes are closed, the tips of the ears slightly shake or they move and the tail twitches nervously, which means that the kitten is simply unhappy that you do not let him rest. Adult animals sleep much more than they sleep. At this time, they relax relaxed and at the same time react sensitively to the external situation.

Romantic dreams

In advertisements they often show that their favorite "Kitty Cat" dreams about cats. Such moments are very touching and positive. Also it would be desirable to think that your favorite only does, that nourishingly eats and sleeps, seeing in a dream, as with pleasure it absorbs the favorite delicacy. Each pussy has its own character, its habits, and night visions are highly individual, and it is possible that scientists have not quite rightly interpreted the restless behavior of an animal during sleep. Or maybe the kitty was playfully running around on the lawn with a cat, perhaps figuring out her feelings in a passionate "conversation with her beloved."

French biologist unraveled the mystery of the dream of cats

In 1979, French biologist Michel Jouvet was able to solve the riddle of dreams in animals. During sleep, the brain blocks the movements of the muscles with its special patch. The scientist turned off this lock in the experimental cats, thereby making them "sleepwalkers." When the animals were quietly asleep, they were still, but when the fast phase of sleep began, they quickly jumped up and began to hunt for a nonexistent enemy, wildly rushing at him, biting, bitterly, scratching. However, the real mouse did not react to the pussy. Judging by this reaction, it can be assumed that the cat dreams a similar dream, full of anxiety and worries, joy and disappointment.

If your pet is well-fed and healthy, then the rest will be calm and long-lasting. Sweet yawning, holding one foot forward, another one back, she lick her graceful body several times, and calmly will rest. And we, in turn, looking at her with infinite adoration, we will think: "Do cats dream, do not they?"
