What can be shaurma at home

Shaurma is now widespread everywhere and is especially used as a quick hot "snack" dish, which can be bought in small stalls on the street in almost all cities of the world.

Secondly, the components of shawarma, which correspond to the classical recipe, are considered harmful from the point of view of today's ideas about healthy food.

Remembering this, many townspeople are forced to bravely deny themselves the pleasure of eating a hot and stupidly tasty smelling shawarma on the street. But they can easily cook shawarma at home, replacing harmful products, and get a safe healthy and tasty dish.

The recipe for shawarma at home.

Shaurma at home is prepared very easily.

The following ingredients are used:

  • Purchased bread-lavash. No matter what - Armenian, Azerbaijani, just lavash. It is important that it is a fresh thin (not thicker than thick paper) bread cake of a rather large area.

  • Meat, cooked in a favorite way (fried, boiled, smoked). The choice of meat depends on the preference of the cook and his ideas about the usefulness of the products. It can be lamb, beef, pork, chicken, turkey. It is better to use a mixture of several types of meat.

  • Seasonal vegetables. 3-4 kinds of favorite vegetables, which can be fresh or canned. They can be: tomatoes, cucumbers (fresh or salted), onions, cabbage, lettuce, Korean carrots and the like.

  • French fries cooked from a single medium-sized tuber.

  • The greens that you like.

  • Hard cheese. It is recommended to use cheese without specific flavors.

  • Favorite sauce: mayonnaise and its varieties, ketchup, cheese, tartar, mustard, Caesar and so on.

  • Spices to taste

How to prepare shaurma at home.

Meat is cut into neat straw. Vegetables cut into pieces, comparable in size with meat slices. Cheese is rubbed on a large grater. The greens are finely chopped.

Then spread the pita bread. It is laid out with layers of potatoes (it should be hot), meat, vegetables, greens. Add the spices. With salt you need to be careful, because, most likely, the participating ingredients will already be salted.

On top of the mixture of sauces and cheese. Lavash is wrapped in any convenient way so that the filling is not visible.

Then the bundle (the future shawarma) is put on a dry heated pan and left on high heat for 2-3 minutes. Reverse and repeat the warm-up.

The size of the finished shawarma depends on the appetite and size of the pita bread, but the optimal size should be considered, which is convenient enough for placing on the man's palm.

Obviously, shaurma at home leaves room for creativity. Therefore, when making it, you can easily get a product that completely satisfies personal taste requirements.

The same is for those who want to turn shaurma into a dietary dish. We take from the recipe potatoes and heavy sauces, we use boiled chicken or turkey meat, we increase the number of vegetables.

Prepared from high-quality and healthy products, shaurma at home is transformed into an original dish, replacing breakfast or dinner, a fine hot, consisting of many vegetables, dietary meat and a very small amount of bread.
