Renault Daster: diesel or gasoline - which engine is best to choose

Intending to purchase Renault Duster, diesel is considered by many customers, since this version of this French crossover turned out very successful. But not all buy diesel engines. This is primarily due to the fact that the price of Renault Daster (diesel) will be much higher than the car of a similar configuration, but with a gasoline engine. However, this situation is typical for any brand - the diesel has always been and is more expensive.

If we talk about the merits of Renault Daster (diesel), then the most striking advantage for the buyer will be fuel consumption, which can not be compared to any gasoline model. According to the real owners of diesel versions of the crossover, he calmly fits in 5 liters of solyers for every hundred. The resource for these engines, when properly operated, is also quite decent (by the way, gasoline engines installed on Renault are also considered one of the most reliable).

But there are diesel Dasters and a number of shortcomings. The first is inherent in most engines working on the solarium, unnecessary motor noise. It can not be said that Duster has too much noisy diesel - it can be worse. But by ear you can easily determine that the car is diesel. However, the most important drawback of this engine in operation in the CIS countries is the lack of quality fuel in the market. This is the trouble of all diesel engines that are operated on domestic roads. Substandard diesel fuel leads to a rapid failure of quite expensive fuel equipment, and the economical Renault Daster (diesel) begins to gut the owner's purse.

Avoid such inconveniences and troubles will help the constant use of good additives and proven refills (although they sometimes get frankly bad fuel). Diesel to the quality of fuel is much more sensitive than gasoline engines, so they suffer much more often and more seriously. In winter, the situation is exacerbated, especially in regions where the temperature is below 30 degrees. Renault Daster, whose diesel engine will not start in such conditions (like any other diesel engine), is unsuitable for Russian winter (at higher temperatures below zero, it will have to be heated for a long time).

To problems associated with fuel quality and operating mode, it is worth adding expensive repairs to diesel engines, oil consumption, which will be much higher than that of the petrol version, as well as the smell of diesel fuel that will chase the owner at the gas stations.

The Renault Daster car, both in diesel and petrol versions, can be either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The number of additional options available in both versions is also the same. True, the diesel is not yet equipped with automatic transmission (the manufacturer explains this by the fact that the machine increases fuel consumption, and the diesel is purchased in order to save it), but, probably, in the foreseeable future, such equipment will also appear.

Many of the admirers of diesel engines, none of the above problems does not stop, and they still buy a diesel, which they have every right to. Which is better to choose: savings or comfort, low fuel consumption or cheaper repairs - to the customer. Always for the sake of one advantage it is necessary to sacrifice something else, you just need to correctly prioritize, then the choice will be correct.
