We treat inflammation of the appendages

One of the most frequent problems with which a woman turns to a gynecologist is an inflammation of the uterine appendages . But the inflammation of the uterine tube or only the ovaries is relatively rare, much more often the inflammation spreads to the ovaries and the tubes (salpingoophoritis), and can also be accompanied by endometritis - inflammation of the uterus. This happens because in the small pelvis the genital organs are closely connected with each other and the inflammatory process in one of them entails the defeat of other organs.

With exacerbation of existing chronic inflammation or with the development of an acute form with severe symptoms, the inflammation of the appendages in the hospital is treated. At easy enough forms treatment is spent at home. Of course, the overwhelming majority of patients prefer to be treated at home, however, in this case, all the doctor's recommendations should be strictly observed and his advice should not be neglected about the lifestyle (that is, if possible, lie, do not exercise too much, do all the prescribed procedures) .

Treatment of inflammation of the appendages with antibiotics is prescribed depending on the pathogens found, but most often antibacterial treatment with an acute form of the disease is prescribed taking into account all probable pathogens. If the inflammation of the appendages is treated in the clinic, intravenous administration of the drugs is first carried out, and later they are switched to the appointment of oral antibiotics (drugs that are taken inwards). If with this disease in the abdomen there are enough severe pain, then additionally prescribed analgesics - anti-inflammatory local preparations in the form of ointments and suppositories, ice on the abdomen.

If treatment of inflammation of appendages is performed on an outpatient basis (at home), then injections or tablets are more often prescribed.

Treatment of inflammation of the appendages with antibiotics and the course of anti-inflammatory therapy are required to pass necessarily in full and specifically for as many days as the doctor has prescribed to you. With a decrease in prescribed doses of drugs or with unfinished treatment against the background of the absence of signs of the disease, inflammation will begin again.

Also in some cases, it is required to undergo a course of anti-relapse treatment with the use of physiotherapy and sanatorium treatment.

If an infection is found, then it is necessary to conduct a survey of your partner, and if necessary, his treatment. If the inflammation of the appendages is treated, then it is better to abstain from intimate life.

Individual antibiotics can not be combined with alcohol. For the duration of treatment, alcohol should be discarded.

Non-drug treatment of this disease is carried out exclusively with chronic course or after treatment of acute inflammation. In this case, the following methods of physiotherapy are used: electrophoresis, magnetotherapy, diadynamic currents, thalassotherapy, radon baths. If after the conservative treatment the condition is stabilized, then phonophoresis is carried out with copper, magnesium or calcium.

Surgical treatment of this disease is carried out only in the absence of a result from conservative methods and with the appearance of purulent formations in the ovaries and tubes. In the first stage, laparoscopy is used.

After inflammation of the uterine appendages, the risk of ectopic pregnancy is greatly increased due to contractions of the fallopian tubes and the appearance of adhesions, and the risk of infertility is much increased. Inflammatory process can lead not only to the appearance of adhesions, but also to a violation of the production of sex hormones by the ovaries.

There may appear complications of a purulent nature, in which the treatment of inflammation of the appendages is carried out only surgically, up to the complete removal of the tubes of the uterus!

The most common cause of inflammation of the appendages is the pathogens of infections transmitted through the genital tract (viruses, fungi, pyogenic microflora, pathogenic microorganisms). In this regard, the prevention of inflammation of the appendages is safe sex with the use of condoms, personal hygiene, and, of course, regular visits to the gynecologist for the purpose of preventive examinations for early detection of the disease. After all, if you start treatment of inflammation of the appendages at an early stage, all the complications that can ruin the life can be avoided.
