We make the roof drain for our own hands

If you live in a private country house or in a country house, you probably know how, during the rain, water sprays from the roof drain to the ground, abundantly moistening with spray walls. The problem here is not only in the aesthetic aspect of the matter: for a few years of such "water procedures" the foundation may be seriously damaged.

But all the negative consequences will be decided in advance by the installed drain for the roof. Of course, today they are sold in stores, and companies that perform the installation of gutters, and do not count. But why overpay extra money, when all the necessary operations can be carried out with their own hands, without attracting specialists for work from outside?

First you need to select the material from which you will make the roof drain. Most often they are made from a strip of galvanized metal, as it can be found on any construction base for acceptable money. In addition, you may well remain surplus after roof overlapping or similar work. Measure the end of the roof, determining its length. To make plums of water from the roof, we will be from sheets of material, the width of which is 25 cm. The longer the sheets of material available for you, the less it will be necessary to fasten the segments together. In addition, do not forget to buy a wire with a diameter of up to three millimeters, as well as a set of screws and bolted connections.

We use metal

With the help of an electric tool we cut the sheets into the appropriate segments. We advise you to work mechanized, since the cut quality in this case is much better. With the help of a self-made machine from a bar we bend the future drain for the roof at an angle of 90 degrees. At a distance of 0.3-0.4 m from each other we drill holes in the fastenings. In the holes that have been made we pass the wire loops, bending them so that it is convenient to hook on the attachments you purchased for the drains.

During installation, parts of the system must overlap each other, and for reliability, some sealant can be poured between them. It would be quite good to make a drainage system under the walls of the house in the place of the drainage, or simply to dig up the storage capacity in the ground. The accumulated water in it can be used to irrigate the infield. Of course, the system of drains must have a slope, otherwise the water will not go in the direction in which you planned.

We use plastic bottles

It is possible to make a drain for a roof even easier, having spent on it even less finance. In general, you spend money only on fasteners. First, look for as many ordinary plastic bottles as possible, with a volume of one and a half liters. Their color is limited only by your aesthetic preferences. Work - you can not imagine: you cut off the bottom and neck, gently cutting through the sidewall. After doing this manipulation, you need to insert the bottles into each other, fastening them together with a wire or sealant. We catch the construction on its proper place and admire our work.

As we already said, there is a way even easier: just buy a ready-made drain system in the store, then mount it on the roof. Since it is very easy to make a drain from a roof in this way, even a very inexperienced builder will cope with this. It should be noted that the design must be properly secured, as a gust of wind can easily pluck the light plastic.
