Warning signs for drivers and pedestrians

The category divides all road signs: prohibitory and warning, priority and prescriptive, as well as additional information. Each group performs its functions. Man, driving a vehicle, must be able to read them and correctly navigate. After all, every participant in the movement knows that the car is a means of increased danger.

General characteristics of signs

What are the warning signs? These technical means of traffic management along the roadway, like any other, are aimed at ensuring safety and increasing the carrying capacity of the traffic flow. From the name of a group of signs it is clear that they warn the driver about approaching dangerous sections on the road. Consequently, the person driving the vehicle must have time to take appropriate action conditions. In the SDA each sign has its own name and comment on its installation and coverage. It is he who explains to the driver what precautions he should take.

Traffic rules, warning signs: description

Enumerate the whole group is meaningless. Signs of a large number, their study and description will take a lot of time and space. The Compendium of the Rules of the Road contains their drawings and names. And in this article we will consider only the most complex, which is often confused by novice drivers.

So, the warning signs (photo below) look like a red triangle with a white background inside.

Signs 1.1- 1.4.6 are installed near railway crossings. They report on the presence or absence of barriers, the number of paths crossing the roadway. 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 report the boundaries of the railway crossing. These signs have a serious meaning, because with their help the driver of the vehicle is warned that after their passage special rules of traffic on nearby intersections begin to operate. They must be observed, since almost all traffic accidents involving a car and a train end in the death of people. And in connection with the fact that the actual weight of the car is much lower than the weight of any railway transport, it is its passengers and the driver that are most at risk.

Seeing the sign "Crossing with a tram line", a person at the wheel of a car should increase vigilance. Carefully evaluate the traffic situation. After all, a sign warned you that a nearby tram would go by. And the mass of the latter is several times higher than the mass of any car. Therefore, in the collision, the main damage will be your vehicle. In any case, it is better to skip the tram, even if it violates the rules.

The sign "Crossing Equivalent Roads" warns the driver that within a few meters he will approach the intersection. There, he has no advantages over other participants in the movement. At such intersections, the rule "interference to the right" operates. That is, at the intersection of equivalent roads the driver is obliged to skip all those who are moving to the right of him.

A roundabout informs you of a section of the road with the carriageway, on which the trip is organized along the ring. It has certain rules. You should know how to enter / leave the ring without becoming the cause of an accident.

The sign "Light regulation" warns the driver that he is approaching a section of the road where traffic lights are installed. Accordingly, on them and will need to navigate when traveling. In reality, this sign is set to attract the attention of the vehicle manager. For example, at a certain intersection or crossing for pedestrians there was no traffic light before, but decided to install it now. In connection with this, an appropriate warning sign is also installed, which will allow the driver to prepare in advance and cross the carriageways correctly. Also, this element will face traffic lights if it stands in an unexpected place and it is difficult to see it in less than a hundred meters.

Ironically, cars continue to fall into rivers and lakes, despite the warning signs "The Broken Bridge" and "Departure to the Embankment." Drivers simply do not notice or ignore them.

"Dangerous turns" - warning signs of traffic (photo below), report on the nearby curves of the roadway, on which you must be extremely careful.

After all, an incorrect assessment of the situation can lead to a congress from the strip at best, at worst - to an accident. These elements of the road warn drivers that soon there will be one or several (indicated by a sign) of dangerous turns. It is strictly prohibited to overtake these sections of the roadway. This maneuver can be performed before the turn or immediately before it. Otherwise, the driving vehicle faces a penalty in the form of deprivation of a driving license for up to six months.

Temporary warning signs

Technical means of organizing traffic may not be permanent. Almost every warning sign can be temporary. That is, it will be distinguished by a yellow background and is installed in the event of any repair work, carrying out measures or for promptly changing the situation for security purposes. Permanent signs, in contrast to temporary, have a white background.

There are certain signs that can be both temporary and permanent. And some will never be permanent.

  • Slippery road.
  • The release of crushed stone.
  • Narrowing the road to the right / left / on both sides (can be both temporary and permanent).
  • Men at work.
  • Dangerous roadside.
  • Rough road.
  • Ice.
  • Two-way traffic (can be both temporary and permanent).
  • A traffic jam on the road.
  • Seasonal migration of amphibians.

Sometimes on the road there are fixed and temporary signs at the same time, the driver must follow the last ones, since they are priority in this situation.

Warning signs for pedestrians

Ideally, participants in traffic outside vehicles should know the traffic rules on a par with drivers. However, this can only be dreamed of. After all, pedestrians receive minimal knowledge of SDA in school. After it, it is unlikely that someone will independently learn the rules.

Pedestrians must necessarily know some traffic warning signs. After all, not only drivers, traffic policemen can fined. For pedestrians, the following signs are important:

  • Crosswalk. Often people get confused, believing that it means that in this place you can cross the roadway. It's a delusion. The sign only warns the driver about the imminent approach to the pedestrian crossing. Also, when a person sees this technical means of organizing a movement, he must understand that there is a marked pedestrian crossing nearby, along which he must cross the roadway.
  • Children. Every child should be explained from an early age that this sign does not allow them to cross the road in the place where they were installed. It is designed to warn the driver about the possible sudden appearance of children on the roadway, but does not allow them to go out on the road.
  • Men at work. Often, such places where work is carried out are not fenced, but only marked with signs. Therefore, both the driver and the pedestrian can easily get into a dangerous place, especially careful to be in the dark.
  • Railway crossings. It does not matter, with or without a barrier, passing through this intersection, a pedestrian must necessarily adequately assess the situation and his capabilities.

Setting warning signs

Every driver should know where this or that technical vehicle for organizing the movement is located. So, warning road signs are located from a dangerous site inside the village at a distance of 50-100 meters, outside the city - 150-300 m. In some cases, they are supplemented by signs. These information signs can be of two types. The first indicates the length of the dangerous area. The plate has the form of a rectangle of white color with a black edging, on the sides there are two arrows up, between which the number is indicated. This figure indicates the duration of the hazardous area. The second plate indicates the distance through which the place the sign warns about will start. It looks the same as the previous one, but without the arrows on the edges.

Duplicate signs

In the group of warning signs there are several pieces that are duplicated. That is, the first is installed at a distance outside the village of 150-300 m and is repeated twenty to fifty meters before the start of the dangerous site.

  • Railway crossing with a barrier.
  • Drawbridge.
  • Railroad crossing without a barrier.
  • Departure to the embankment.
  • Children.
  • Road works (repeated in the city, but just before the dangerous site).

Coverage Area

Warning road signs apply exclusively to a hazardous area. There is no strict measure of the action of this group. After all, their main goal is to warn the driver about approaching something.

The exception is when the sign is installed with a sign. And it indicates the duration of the dangerous area.

Complex situations with warning signs

Even with a novice driver, this group of means of organizing traffic on the road does not cause problems. After all, these signs do not prohibit anything, but warn in advance about dangerous sections on the roadway. Therefore, the driver, after seeing any of them, should take appropriate measures, that is, increase vigilance and reduce the speed, which subsequently, if necessary, will allow unhindered braking.

Nuances

The warning signs do not prohibit anything, so they can not be violated in any way. That is, you have no right to write any fine.

However, do not lose your vigilance. After all, these signs warn us about the upcoming dangerous sections on the road. And already there to break the traffic rules and get a hateful fine is very simple.

Warning signs of road traffic RB are depicted, installed and have the same value as in the Russian Federation. Therefore, drivers of neighboring countries use practically the same traffic rules.
