What is the technical design of the information system?

For the first time, information systems began to appear in the 50s of the last century. Their task was to process accounts and payroll, which reduced the time spent on preparing documents.

In the 70th and 80th information systems become a means of management control, which supports and helps to make quick decisions.

In the late 80's they began to be used in organizations of any profile, help to achieve success in activities, in the creation of new products and services.

The information system is considered to be a certain number of interconnected software automation, accumulation, and information processing. The data entered in the information system is stored there or processed and transmitted to the consumer.

The technical design of the information system is the design documentation, which describes the design solutions for the creation and operation of the information system. Elements and complexes of the functional part of the IS are design objects.

The technical project begins to be prepared from the pre-project survey and gives a justification as to whether it is expedient to create this system. List the requirements for the functions of the system and design methods.

Then the technical project goes through the second stage - it is research work, development of different versions of the system and selection of the best of them.

The third stage is the terms of reference. This is a document sent by the customer to the performer, it describes the task, what functions the system should fulfill and the requirements for it. It is developed in accordance with GOST 34.602 - 89.

When the technical project goes through the fifth stage, the main work is being done to create IP. Organizational support - changes are made to the management structure (units are merged or divided).

Information support - choose a system of classifications, coding. Developed documents, a plan of activities for preparing the facility for the implementation of systems, the expected economic effect is calculated .

Sixth stage: programming is carried out. In accordance with job descriptions, technical instructions are developed.

The seventh stage: the IS is tested and, in the absence of defects, is put into operation.

Finally, at the eighth stage, the technical design of the IS is accompanied by the performer in order to maintain the performance characteristics at the proper level. Consultations are being conducted, elimination of shortcomings, making proposals on the development of IP.

The concept of an automated information system includes the use of computer support for system design and is called CASE. There are basic principles of creating IP based on CASE-technologies:

• Comprehensive computer design support;
• CASE model approach: the system can support an object-oriented or function-oriented approach;
• Hierarchical representation of the model. The possibility of detailed (decomposition), respectively, with the descending design;
• Principle of visibility - illustrations, graphs describing the structure and elements of the system.
