Sign "red triangle" on the road

A significant part of the modern population of the Earth has any vehicles. In developed countries cars are especially common. Consequently, at some point, there was an urgent need to create an effective regulation of the increasingly intensive traffic. An international system of signs was created. At present, the diversity of such symbols is divided into several main categories. Let's consider some of them.

Warning signs

This category is distinguished by the fact that a significant part of the notation is framed by a red triangle. Thus, they seem to accentuate the attention of the road user to a possible danger, which, in turn, points to them. Of course, the notation system includes the most common variants of dangerous road sections. Movement on them requires maximum concentration and timely measures to stabilize the situation. For example, it may be crossing with the railway, tram ways, traffic light adjustment, dangerous turns, pavement features, permitted pedestrian movement, repair work, the possibility of animals and so on. In the event that you saw an exclamation point in the red triangle, it should be remembered that such a designation includes so-called "other dangers". These are all possible threats to the further successful and stable movement, which are not provided for by other symbols.

Priority Marks

It should be remembered that not only in the previous category there is such a symbol as the red triangle. The sign is included in the priority group. Here, a similar symbol also serves to attract the attention of the driver of the vehicle. The red triangle in the context of this category warns about the intersection of the main road with the secondary road, as well as the contiguity of the latter. It is important to remember that the rapprochement can take place both on the right side and on the left. Let's analyze one more important question. What does the red triangle mean in an inverted form? Such a symbol is called "To give way" and means that the traffic participant, going to the intersection with the main road on the secondary road, must perform all necessary actions to not interfere with the movement of other drivers.

Feature of the sign "red triangle"

Each road user should remember that the above geometric figure is found only in the two groups presented before: warning and priority signs. In all the rest: prescribing, prohibiting, informational, service, designation of additional information and special requirements - it is customary to use rectangles, squares and circles.

Location:

As mentioned before, the red triangle is most often found in warning signs, the main task of which is to alert the driver about possible dangerous situations on the road. Therefore, the rules of the road described the need to install it at a certain distance before the start of the suspicious area. Within the city limits, this value ranges from 50 to 100 meters, and varies from 150 to 300 meters outside of it. In some cases, an additional label is placed, called "Distance to the object", where the required value is displayed. In addition, if the dangerous section has a sufficiently long extension, it is also possible to install the "Zone of Action" sign, which is set under the corresponding warning symbol.

Important to remember

If any sign is on a yellow background, it means that it is temporary. With regard to warning signs, this may mean that the danger has a relatively recent time, and road services have not yet had time to take action to eliminate it. If you saw a red triangle on a yellow background and identified it as a priority sign, then it is likely that somewhere along the path of your journey repairs are being made. They also caused a change in movement on this section of the road. Of course, we should not forget that in the presence of conventional and repair signs, it is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the latter without fail.

Forms of release

Currently, all signs that are present in the rules of the road are made on a metal base, which is covered with a special retroreflective composition. This makes the notation noticeable at any time of the day. In some cases, a contour LED backlight can be used. It is provided either by miniature incandescent lamps, or by more common LEDs.
