Vincenzo Montella - Italian scorer

Not so long ago, on June 29, 2016, it became known that Vincenzo Montella will become the new coach of the football club Milan. This information was confirmed both by the representatives of the club and by its owner Silvio Berlusconi. And what is this coach famous for, an excellent player in the past?

Carier start

In 1974, on June 18, the future Italian striker Montella Vincenzo was born in the town of Castello di Cisterna, Campania. The beginning of the playing career took place in the academy of the club "Empoli", where he spent 5 seasons since 1990.

Then there was the club that was playing at that time in Serie B - "Genoa". There he spent the whole season, but during this time managed to become the best striker, scoring twenty-one goals.

Career in the clubs of the top divisions

Vincenzo Montella, whose biography contained many interesting facts, was often the best scorer in many clubs and championships.

Not the exception was the first serious club in his career. It was the football club "Sampdoria", who played in Serie A. Vincenzo scored goals often. And this is confirmed by statistics, which speaks of 54 goals scored in 83 matches.

"Roma", having noticed this punch player, makes him an offer to move into his ranks after "Sampdoria" flies out of Serie A. And Montella accepts him. The future club gave the attacker 25 million euros.

From the first games Vincenzo Montella began to justify such a high cost. For the first season they were scored eighteen goals. And I remember the fans of the clubs "Roma" and "Lazio", who are irreconcilable rivals, because they twice disappointed their rivals in the match held in November of 1999, and ended with the defeat with the score 4: 1. Later, he again upset the fans of "Lazio". The game, held in March 2002, brought four goals in the treasury of Montella. In total, in these derby he scored eight times, one of them in the cup match.

Then the bunch with Totti and Delvecchio became the most effective among the attackers playing in Serie A. The championship of 2000-2001 brought them the championship, and Vincenzo Montella helped with this thirteen goals.

The season 2003-2004 brought little joy from the exits on the field due to the fact that there were a lot of injuries and many matches had to be missed. However, in the next season, the football player was rehabilitated and, having played 37 games, scored 21 goals in them. Life has a zebra coloring, so Vincenzo's 2005-2006 season did not work out. Getting injured during the season, had again and again to return to the infirmary. The most serious injuries were injuries to the back and shoulder, the football player suffered 2 operations.

In January 2007, the striker went on a lease to conquer the English league, playing for the London "Fulham". The first match for this team he spent in the FA Cup, taking a place in the starting lineup. And the coach was not mistaken, having decided to do so, because Montella was able to score twice in the gate, "Leicester City". This striker quickly became popular with fans, because he scored his opponents again and again. However, all good things end sooner or later. And he had to return to "Roma" again.

In the 2007-2008 season, the football player was again on loan, this time in FC Sampdoria. Next season the player spent in "Roma". In 2009, he announced that he would no longer appear on the pitch as a player.

Team Games

Relations with the Italian team began to form in early June 1999, when Vincenzo Montella came on the field against the Welsh national team. In 2000, Vincenzo was awarded the highest award, the Order of Merit for the Italian Republic, because he was in the silver team.

Then there was participation in the World Championship in 2002, and already since 2005 he did not receive invitations to the national team. As a result, for the national team of his country he played twenty matches in which they were scored three goals.

Career coach

Career coach Vincenzo Montella began with the club Giovanissimi Nazionali, which play football players under 15 years. From the beginning of 2011 he was the head coach of FC Roma, where he showed his professionalism from the first matches.

In June 2011, Montella signed a contract for 2 years with FC Catania, but in 12 months he resigned. A week after this, he was appointed to a similar post in the club "Fiorentina". And already from the first season it became clear that professionalism is only growing, because the club, compared to last year, rose to 9 positions in the championship.

At the moment, Montella is the head coach in FC "Milan", where he moved from "Sampdoria", terminating the contract, which was to last 2 more years.
