Value in nature and human life of insects (positive and negative)

Insects are the most numerous representatives of the type of Arthropoda. Thanks to the characteristic features of the building, they have mastered all habitats. Great and the importance of insects in human life. The benefits and harms of these representatives of the animal world and will be discussed in the article.

Characteristic features of insects

The importance in nature and human life of insects is due to such features of the external and internal structure that allow them to easily adapt to any environmental conditions.

Their body consists of the head, chest and abdomen. To the first of these departments a pair of antennae is attached. The breast is divided into three segments, each of which carries a pair of limbs. The integuments form double lamellar folds - the wings. But some species of insects, especially those that lead a parasitic life, no wings.

The cuticle covering the body of the insect forms the outer skeleton. Outside, it releases a fat-like substance that prevents excessive loss of moisture by the body. Muscles of insects are able to contract with a high frequency. This determines the high speed of the flight.

For some species, such as ladybirds, extra-intestinal digestion is characteristic. Like arachnids, they inject their juices into the body of the victim. Known bugs, which similarly affect the seeds of cereals.

The respiratory system is represented by a combination of trachea, which effectively provides cells with oxygen.

The structure of all systems of organs is of great adaptive importance.

Features of behavior

The regulation of the functions of the organism of insects is carried out with the help of nervous and humoral systems. Therefore, they are characterized by complex behavior. The importance in nature and human life of insects is often due to this very reason.

The central part of the nervous system is the brain, it is well developed. Especially its front department. This manifests itself in the presence of a system of instincts - innate programs of behavior. Insects are characterized by hunting, sex, building and other types of instincts.

Humoral regulation of the body occurs with the help of biologically active substances - hormones. They are secreted by specialized glands into the blood. An example of their action can be the regulation of molting, the transition to a state of rest, communication with individuals of the opposite sex.

Public insects

Specially complex behavior is of public species. The importance of insects in human life is to obtain honey, perga and other useful substances. You, of course, guessed that we are talking about bees. They live in large families, each of which performs its irreplaceable role. The prolific queen and males are responsible for the reproductive function. But the working individuals are building honeycomb, and in their spare time they collect pollen. In this case, they transfer it to the stigmas of the pistils, providing conditions for the fertilization of flowering plants. It is thanks to these insects that fruits and seeds appear in many plants. These workers and provide a positive value of insects in human life and nature.

Worker-ants

The meaning in nature and human life of insects can be considered and the example of other creatures - ants. Making dwellings, they collect a lot of building material. Thus ants mix the soil, making it more porous and rich in organic substances and oxygen.

Large red species eat a large number of forest pests. However, for a person, their bites can be dangerous. Formic acid, which is released during this, can cause itching, irritation of allergic reactions.

Gluttonous Orthoptera

Particular importance of insects in human life is also the representatives of the order Orthoptera. These are grasshoppers, a bear, locusts and other species. But many of them are not as safe as the famous children's song is. The locust, which is a herbivorous insect, is capable of destroying crops in the fields. This species is able to multiply rapidly. Huge families, flying in search of food, outwardly resemble real clouds. At the same time on their way they destroy all the plants.

But the enemy of vegetable gardens and gardens is a bear. With the help of powerful digging feet, she makes in the soil strokes to find edible underground parts of plants. This leads to their death. The activity of the bear sometimes becomes significant, causing irreparable harm to the crop.

Why are lice and fleas dangerous?

The importance of insects in human life and in nature is often negative. Lice are not an exception. These wingless insects are attached to the hair of the host by a movable claw, feeding on its blood. In this case, lice can endure deadly diseases: recurrent and typhus.

Do not confuse these insects with fleas. The latter are characterized by the presence of jumping legs. But this did not affect the meaning of fleas in any positive way. They are bloodsucking parasites that can tolerate diseases.

To avoid contamination with these dangerous insects, you must follow the rules of personal hygiene: do not use someone else's clothes, hats and combs, take water procedures, periodically change clothes.

Amazing beetles

The importance of insects in human life and nature is positive and not very much, they have a representative of the order Gestokrylye. Many of them are predators. At the same time they destroy many pests of agriculture. For example, the ladybug eats the aphid, and the beauty is the caterpillar of butterfly pests. But, unfortunately, some species of beetles themselves cause great damage to agriculture. Weevil destroys the shoots of sugar beet. And the one who had to collect the larvae of the Colorado potato beetle knows that in a special presentation this "handsome" does not need. But the most ruthless insect is a ground beetle. She attacks prey, even being fed to the limit. In captivity, it is even sometimes fed with small pieces of meat.

But dung beetles, despite the unpleasant name, purify the environment of excrement, which feed. At the same time, they rightly deserved the title of the most powerful beetles, since they are capable of lifting the load 90 times heavier than their own.

Bats of Diptera

The man who had to experience the bites of these arthropods, probably for a long time already decided that the importance of insects in human life and nature is negative. If it is a question of mosquitoes, it is difficult to argue with this. Undoubtedly, their larvae serve as food for fish. But mosquito bites can cause serious allergic reactions. Some species are carriers of malaria and yellow fever. These diseases often have a fatal outcome.

The importance of insects in human life and in nature is determined by the activity of flies. Do not think that they are just intrusive and harmless. On the surface of their body is a lot of eggs of helminths, viruses, pathogens. However, when participating in the process of processing dead organics, flies raise the fertility of soils.

It can be concluded that the value in nature and human life of insects is both negative and positive. But during life they will have to face everyone, because for one person there are 250 million insects!
