The purpose of the valves for the heating system

When the heating season comes in, a constant hydrodynamic pressure arises in the system, which is localized at specific sites. What are the causes of accidents in the heating system?

No one is immune from emergencies, which can occur for a variety of reasons:

  • Water, which moves along the gravitational heating system, cools unevenly. The temperature expanding the liquid in the return pipes can reach the limiting value, and then the main water flow changes.
  • Breakthrough and system failure can occur due to the installation of several heating circuits. It becomes more difficult to provide uniform pressure values inside each valve. In this case, the hot liquid can move in the direction of the lowest resistance values.
  • Completion of the heating system. Intermediate mains and return pipelines should be installed. They perform the tasks of uniform distribution of thermal energy for each individual radiator.

It is for this reason that the return valve for heating must ensure the uninterrupted passage of hot water, and also prevent its reverse movement through the system.

How to choose the right valve?

Before buying parts for the heating system, you need to determine the main parameters for connecting them to the central pipeline. The main rule is full compliance with the through diameter of the reinforcement along the entire highway. For example, if the cross-section of the pipe is 35 millimeters, then the same value of the parameter should also be present in the non-return valve.

  • Wafer type systems. They must be installed between pipes that are small in size and size. The optimum option for installation is flap check valves for centralized heating.

Features of the installation

During the installation of independent heating, where there will be a non-return valve, several important steps must be taken into account:

  • The housing must include devices for guiding the movement of hot water.
  • To significantly improve the waterproofing, you need to use specially designed gaskets from paronite. For this purpose, winding is also suitable. Materials should not reduce the area of the working section of the stop valves.

The check valve for the heating system is made of stainless steel or brass. It must be installed at every point where there is a branch of the pipeline.
