The transforming power of art. Art in human life

Art in human life in one form or another was present throughout history. Rock paintings, figurines of idols, ancient sculptures, architecture, music, theater, cinema - without this it is difficult to imagine people's lives. Why is all this necessary and what is the transforming power of art?

Essence

In a person's life there is always a period when he creates. These can be attempts to draw or sculpt from plasticine or clay in childhood, the desire to play music or sing, but it is common for everyone.

But what is art? It is difficult to define this concept. Perhaps it is a process or result of self-expression, affecting not only the creator himself, but also the people around him. It can also be defined as a special way of knowing the world. In everyday life, so-called skill, whose product brings aesthetic pleasure, one of the components of social culture. In other words, the influence of art on man and vice versa is very great, they are closely interrelated. And in any form of creativity, one way or another, transforms the surrounding reality.

Directions of art

Traditionally, types of creativity are divided into several categories depending on various criteria. They can be graphic, spectacular or expressive, on the one hand, and static or dynamic - on the other. In addition, from the point of view of development they are subdivided into spatial or temporal or have the signs of both forms, that is, they are classified as mixed. All this together generates a huge variety of genres.

Ballet, silent cinema, painting, comics, poetry, calligraphy, photography, music - it would seem that it can unite so many different phenomena? But all this is the result of creativity, the product of processing the surrounding space in one form or another. With the development of technology, new forms of art are emerging that have an impact on people who are becoming popular or, on the contrary, dying out. Sometimes this category also includes entrepreneurial talent. But to call it art is impossible in the full - it relies rather on logic and intuition and has as its goal, as a rule, not a transformation of the world and the inspiration of millions of people.

Thus, a wide variety of different directions is available to a modern person, incorporating elements of both music and painting, both sculpture and acting, and combining them in the most bizarre way. But the transforming power of art does not suffer from this, and often only increases.

About the great

In each direction of creativity there are their idols and landmarks, showing a nontrivial view of the world, amazing skill, the power of their impact on people. One way or another, they leave an indelible mark in the history of mankind in the form of music, paintings, sculptures, poems and prose that exhilarate even their distant descendants. Not always their names are known, but people continue to admire their creations - is not this the best reward?

To enumerate hundreds of names does not make sense: they are known to any more or less educated person: Pushkin, Mozart, Picasso, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Gaudi, etc. Art critics, of course, will name in their direction many more luminaries, counting each of them Classics. But most know the names of only those who have passed the test of time, and these are really great people of art. And it's not bad, because they radically changed the world with their creativity, in fact, not so much. But they are familiar with the transforming power of art, they comprehended it and thus perpetuated their names.

Art and Man

It may seem that the result of creativity affects people, bringing only positive emotions and aesthetic pleasure. Indeed, art plays a very important role in human life, but sometimes it pushes it to the abyss. History knows examples when, under the influence of a literary work or picture, epidemics of suicides, mental disorders and other negative events occurred. The death of an idol provoked not only grief and depression, but also rash actions, especially among young people.

At the same time, the influence of art on man, in general, can be characterized as positive. Painting, music, literature, cinema and theater are a great help in educating the young generation, instilling in children and young people a taste for good and raising the general level of culture. As you know, those who read many good books, have an intuitive sense of language, significantly increases vocabulary and sharpens the ability to correctly express their thoughts. The great power of art helps to grow out of a child an integral personality with diverse interests and not alien to the beautiful. So the aesthetic development and the role of creativity in it are invaluable.

In addition, the transforming power of art has power over creators. Writers, poets, directors and artists are happy to quote in their works those who influenced their formation, their teachers and ideological inspirers. But all this happens at the level of consciousness, but what about what happens in a part that a person does not control himself?

Fixed impact

For quite some time now, the minds of scientists have been concerned with the problem of the impact of certain species on living organisms, their activity and their capacity for work. Such a powerful force as art, they could not ignore, so it is not surprising that a lot of research has been conducted on this topic.

The most impressive results were achieved by observing people who listen to this or that music. The fact is that sound, like a wave, has two channels of influence on a person - mechanical and psychophysiological. As a result of a series of experiments it was proved that some melodies can change the activity of the brain, affect the functioning of the central nervous system and the gastrointestinal tract, help to get fast and fast. Basically, such a positive effect has classical music, and the meaning is not only the product itself, but also what instrument it is performed on, whether the tonality is changed, etc.

Stendhal's Syndrome

Not always the magical power of art has a positive effect on man. Sometimes the force of his influence is so great that people experience physical malaise: dizziness, tachycardia, hallucinations. Quite often a similar condition is recorded in Italy, based on a study of complaints from visitors to the Uffizi Gallery, even a study was conducted that confirmed the existence of a phenomenon called Stendhal's Syndrome, since it was this writer who first documented unpleasant symptoms after seeing works of art. Scientists believe that such a state is caused by the fact that people are amazed at the skill of Renaissance artists and how much emotion and feelings they put into their canvases. There are cases when visitors to museums and galleries have fallen into hysteria and even tried to destroy the exhibits. However, if the effect of art on a person doses, it can become a cure.

Art therapy

Despite the fact that the treatment of art has acquired enormous popularity, it seems, more recently, similar methods of healing were known in ancient times. Today, psychotherapists fuse art and creativity with the techniques developed and proposed by Jung and Freud, helping people solve their problems in the process, for example, drawing. So the great power of art helps both in education and in the treatment of people. However, it has power not only over humanity.

Influence on other organisms

As a result of a series of experiments it became clear that the magical power of art affects not only people. It seems that this was quite obvious in ancient times, but scientists confirmed this. Bulbs, near which the classic sounded, grew better, and flowers under the same conditions were more intense and more direct and stable. It is also said that the yeast dough is faster if Mozart's works are included, even if the temperature remains the same.

It's hard to believe, but the influence of art on people and other living organisms is really great. It literally translates emotions, which creators invest in their works. And it really looks like magic.
