Who are the balancers? They are circus performers

What is balancing, who are the balancers? This you will learn by reading the article.

Let's look at the terminology

The statement that the equilibrists are those who are engaged in equilibrating sounds logical. There are no mistakes in this statement, but it does not explain anything at all. Therefore, to begin with, we learn what balancing is.

It is a genre of circus art, the actors of which perform, keeping the balance of the body in the most difficult positions and on the most unstable objects, for example, on a ball, wire or rope, bottles, a pyramid of chairs, a pole, a vertical ladder without fastenings, a bicycle and other things. The genre is combined with juggling and acrobatics.

History

Equilibrists are an ancient profession, as evidenced by the drawings of rope walkers on the stones that have survived to modern times from primitive China. It is known that the Chinese artisans, who wove jute ropes for sale , checked their strength in a special way. They stretched the product between the trees, and then stood on it, strolled along it, holding on to a long stick. Gradually, these rope walkers developed a sense of balance, self-confidence developed. The most adroit already jumped on the rope and walked on it without a stick, some even learned to run and jump on it without insurance, which was very spectacular. Later in China, a competition emerged, during which rope walkers competed among themselves: who will stay longer, who will jump higher or make the most difficult trick on the rope.

From China, this art has spread to other Asian countries, and then to European countries. There, strolling artists at festive games, fairs and sporting attractions, except walking on the rope, showed another remarkable number: they kept a long stick on their feet, in the hands, in their mouths or on their heads, on which the girl or boy was balancing. Nowadays, in many circus rooms, there is a pole of the balancing actor called Persh.
