The most impressive miracles of Russia

Each country can boast of its amazing corner. It can be a miracle of nature or an impressive structure. In our country there are also many such unique places. In 2007-2008 a competition was held under the name "7 wonders of Russia". 49 objects from different regions took part in it. With the help of voting for three stages, places were chosen which today are rightfully given the title of one of the seven wonders of Russia. What objects are included in this seven?

Lake Baikal (Buryatia)

This lake is really a miracle, of which not only the inhabitants of our country, but also the whole world know. The famous feature of this reservoir lies in its depth. On the whole planet it is the deepest. It is located in Eastern Siberia in the southern part and has a tectonic origin. Also, this lake is 19% of the world's reserve of fresh water. The nature of Baikal and its deep expanses are distinguished by a variety of flora and fauna. Many call this pond a sea. By voting, Baikal won first place in the contest. But besides the lake there are other wonders of nature in Russia.

Valley of Geysers in Kamchatka

The valley of geysers is considered to be the largest geyser field on the whole Earth, in Eurasia it is the only one. Not surprisingly, the wonders of Russia (photo of the valley shown below) include this geyser field in its list. It is located in the biosphere reserve in Kamchatka. You can see this place with your own eyes only if you fly by helicopter, as it is hiding in the Kronotsky gorge. On the territory of 2 km ² there are about 20 large geysers, and there are also many small sources that occasionally sprinkle practically boiling water or steam. Here is the confluence of the two Shumnaya and Geyzernaya rivers, under the waters of which there are also several sources.

Mamaev kurgan

The third place in the contest "7 Wonders of Russia" was taken by Mamayev Kurgan and monuments erected on it. It is a monumental ensemble of majestic proportions. The main monument is "Motherland Calls." This huge sculpture of a woman who steps forward and calls for her own children, is 52 meters high. Mamayev Kurgan is considered a sacred place for Slavic people. This sculptural composition recalls the courage shown by Russian people, defending their hometown. These miracles of Russia are in Volgograd.

Peterhof

On the shores of the Gulf of Finland is a palace and park ensemble, called Peterhof. It costs only 29 km from St. Petersburg in the city of Peterhof. This miracle, like the previous one, combined two components - the Grand Palace and the Palace and Park Ensemble. These miracles of Russia are under the supervision of the museum-reserve "Peterhof". Impressive buildings were originally the residence of Peter I, and today they are a museum.

Intercession Cathedral in Moscow

The most famous landmark where many tourists go is the Pokrovsky Cathedral, which is also called the Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed. It is interesting that the inhabitants of other countries inextricably associate Moscow with this cathedral. Therefore, he rightfully took a place among the seven miracles.

The columns of weathering

Of course, the wonders of Russia can not do without these remains of unknown and mysterious origin. They are located in the Urals on the plateau of Man-Pupu-Ner. About how and when these poles appeared, the local settlement made up a lot of stories and legends. If you approach them closer, you can see their unusual shape and appearance.

Mountain Elbrus

This mountain is located in the Caucasus, at one time it was an active volcano. But Elbrus is not only on the list of wonders of Russia, but also among the largest extinct volcanoes on the planet. Its height is 5642 m. For example, the volcano Kilimanjaro (higher by 253) is almost the same as Elbrus. But in Russia and among the Asian mountains, this giant is considered the most elevated peak. As already noted, several amazing places of our country took part in the competition. Although all could not reach the finalists, many of them are really unique. For example, in this number you can include many majestic cathedrals and monasteries, museums and estates. But the miracles of Russia, created by nature itself, are still special. So in the Perm region there is an ice cave, in length it is the seventh in the world list.

Also, many are impressed by the Novosibirsk Zoo, the area of which reaches 63 hectares. On its territory there are 738 different kinds of animals, 350 of which are in the international Red Book.

Others are enthusiastic about the saline lake of Biskunchak, whose area is 115 km ² . Also there is a majestic peak Dombay-Ulgen, always covered with snow, and itself is composed of granites, crystalline schists and gneisses.

But for ordinary people, even their own achievements can become miracles, for example, grown vegetables, planted flowers and so on. For example, many admire hybrids, which offers the company "Gardens of Russia". Miracle tomatoes can replace the whole plantation. It is enough to plant a few bushes, and you will get a rich harvest.
