The length of the calyx is 15 millimeters, its shape is bell-shaped, the corolla is bright yellow or golden yellow. There are five stamens and one pestle in the cup. The fruit of the flower is an egg-shaped box. Pollen is transported by cross pollination by insects, for example bumblebees.

Leaves of primrose flowers contain a lot of vitamin C, so they can be used in preparing various salads. In the roots of the plant there are saponin substances, essential oils and glycosides. The roots of plants are often used in medicine, for example, from the root of the primrose, an expectorant is prepared, which cures the upper respiratory tract. It is useful to use this infusion in bronchitis.

Reproduction of a flower

Primula is very well reproduced by parts of bushes and seeds. Seeds should be sown in autumn. Seedlings start to bloom only in the second year. Reproduction by parts of the bush should be done once in three years, in early spring or in autumn, in early September. If you do not make the division of the bushes for a long time, the primroses will be worse bloom and even freeze, because after a while the rhizome gradually approaches the soil.
