How to root a rose from a bouquet? Some useful tips

Rose, indeed, can be called a royal flower, which fascinates with its fragrance and amazing beauty. But in the bouquet this beauty is short-lived, and the wilted flowers always feel sorry.

But it is in the case of roses that there is a way out. Let's say you were presented with a very beautiful bouquet. Allow him to show off for a few days in a vase, preferably not more than 4 days. And then this bouquet can be given a second life. How to root a rose from a bouquet? Just note that nothing is complicated in this, just need to know how to do it right.

So, your bouquet has fulfilled its purpose, and it's time to do business. I want to note that if you decide to use a bouquet right away to grow roses from cuttings, then this is even better. And the original composition can be made from buds, they still have to be cut.

Take a transparent wide vase, pour water in there and dip the rosebuds. It turns out very beautifully, and the fragrance will fill your room.

Buds cut, from the stems choose more stiff with elastic and green leaves. In order to get roses from the cuttings from the bouquet, it is necessary that between the stem and leaves there is a sleeping kidney: without it nothing will come out.

If there are such kidneys, then you can start cutting the cuttings. From one stalk of medium size, two cuttings will be obtained, on which there will be two or three buds. Cut the cuttings need very carefully: it is important and the direction of the cut, and the distance from the kidney.

The upper cut, which should be done straight and smooth, should be above the kidney at a distance of 1 to 1.5 cm. The lower cut is made obliquely downward from the sleeping kidney, the distance from which is about two centimeters. The bottom can be left and one can make several cuts. Just remember that the incisions should be even, not jagged, otherwise the bush will ache.

We continue the story of how to root a rose from a bouquet. Now with the cuttings obtained it is necessary to perform several operations. First, the leaves located at the bottom of the cut must be completely cut off, and those that are near the upper bud should be cut in half. This manipulation will stimulate the growth of roots. Secondly, the lower part of the cut should be lowered into any preparation for rooting cuttings.

Now a little about the land in which you intend to plant your workpieces. Let's start with the fact that you can make a special nursery or immediately put the stalk on a permanent place. In any case, the land should be saturated with humus, and its surface is best sprinkled with river sand up to 3 cm thick.

If the earth is ready, plant them so that only the upper kidney with leaves remains on the surface. Each cut is covered with a glass jar, preferably 5 liters. Narrow neck on the bottle must be cut. Be sure to fix the jar or bottle, sprinkling them with earth. To protect from the bright sun and severe frost from above, put leaves or twigs, and in winter, cover them with snow.

It is possible not to plant the cuttings in the open ground. How to root a rose from a bouquet indoors? It's very simple. In the same way do the workpieces, only you plant them, for example, in a large plastic bottle, and you must cover with another bottle on top. Put in a cool, not too bright place.

A very important point: with the onset of heat, you can not immediately take cover (banks and bottles). You need to do this gradually. First, just raise the jar for a short time: so you gradually accustom the rose to the environment. Then you can open it for a day, and leave it under a can at night. And with the onset of warmer nights, you can completely remove the shelter. When the cuttings are under the banks, do not forget to water them. You need to do this around the shelter.

Now you know how to root a rose from a bouquet. Just do not try to do this with Dutch roses. The fact is that these flowers are treated with a special solution, so that they last longer, and therefore rooting them is a useless occupation.
