The first machine in history

No doubt, a car is one of the most useful inventions of a man, but not all motorists know who and in what year the first car in the world was invented.

In the distant 1672th Flemish missionary in China, Ferdinand Verbiste engineered a steam engine. He could drive a toy car, which the inventor presented to the Chinese emperor. And although this car could not carry passengers, it got into history as the first car with a steam engine.

And already in 1769 a new self-propelled device was created. His author was the Frenchman Nicolas Cunho, who went down in history as the first inventor of self-propelled transport. The first machine was simultaneously a prototype of both a locomotive and a self-propelled stroller. The designer called his offspring a "fiery cart", as it was originally intended to be used for the transportation of artillery shells.

It is interesting that the auto-truck, created by Cunho, set in motion the steam, while it was equipped with one wheel with one drive in the front.

The first car had a power of only two horsepower, however, despite such, to put it mildly, not impressive characteristics, it was accelerated to five kilometers per hour. At the same time this self-propelled vehicle had a load capacity of as much as five tons.

The first car on which the internal combustion engine was installed is the Motorwagen, designed by Karl Benz. It was patented in early 1886, and after almost a year it was seen at an exhibition in Paris. However, to call it a full-fledged one would be wrong: it was very similar to a tricycle with a power unit transmitting traction to the rear wheels. The first car accelerated to fifteen kilometers and had water cooling for the engine.

She could take on board two passengers. The set included a non-standard lever-steering wheel, which was somewhat difficult to manage.

Motorwagen was produced for seven years, and during this period, sold as many as twenty-five cars.

The very first gasoline car borrowed a lot from other modes of transport, such as a steam car, horse-drawn carriage, bicycle, coach, but it had one essential distinctive feature - a gasoline engine, very economical and compact. It was created by the Austrian Siegfried Marcus, whose idea of using gasoline as a fuel dawned one day when he accidentally set fire to air masses with a high content of benzopars. Using the power of the explosion power and creating the world's first gasoline engine, Siegfried set it on a banal cart, and ten years later he designed a more advanced modification of the car.

However, despite the fact that an iron friend of a man has a very rich history, it is commonly believed that the first machine is the offspring of German engineers Benz and Daimler. It took them two decades to create an engine suitable for transporting passengers and cargo. It was Benz that invented the carburetor, he is also credited with the authorship of the idea of the mechanism of adhesion.

Daimler and Benz established the production of cars, and for eight years they managed to sell 69 cars, including four-wheeled "Velo" with two-cylinder engines and pneumatic tires.
