A-320, the plane. A-320 - the plane, "Aeroflot"

Airbus A 320 is a plane, a photo of which every amateur of aviation has. Its name conceals a family of narrow-bodied aircraft used for small and medium-range flights. This model was originally designed and created to compete with the most popular at that time, the Boeing 727 and its improved version of the Boeing 737.

The main emphasis in the development of the airbus was made on the widespread use of modern digital technologies. The mechanical devices in the cockpit were replaced by radiation shields. Model A 320 is an airplane with a more spacious passenger cabin and shelves for hand luggage of increased volume in comparison with competitors. On air liners manufactured after 2000, instead of radiation screens, installation of LCD displays began. The on-board electronics and the salon equipment underwent a major upgrade. The crew consists of only 2 pilots, to achieve this allowed a high level of automation in management. The aircraft accommodates from 107 to 220 passengers, the number depends on the configuration of the cabin and the modification. The maximum range of the flight is 4600 - 5500 kilometers.

History of aircraft production

In 1984, the development of the airliner Airbus A 320 began. The aircraft for the first time broke away from the ground in late February 1987. Commercial exploitation began about a year later (in April 1988).

During this time, 6331 aircraft were produced , and for 11163 the company has an order (data of November 2014). The main assembly line is a factory located in France, the city of Toulouse. Since 2008, the assembly is also made in the suburbs of the German city of Hamburg. In 2011, a small assembly line was opened in Chinese Tianjin.

Aircraft in the fleet of Russian airlines

Most airlines in Russia operate Airbus A 320 aircraft. Aeroflot has more than 60 airliners in its fleet. On the flights of this company two similar interior configurations are used. The difference between them in the number of seats in business and economy class.

To understand where the best / worst places, as an example, we will use the configuration 1. Such aircraft Aerobus Aeroflot has in its park the majority. For convenience, places with similar characteristics in configuration 2 are shown in parentheses.

Places of business class Aerobus A 320

The aircraft, the layout of which is presented above, is divided into economy class and business class.

1-5 (1-2) rows are business class seats. In this model of airliners, in contrast to A 330, there is a limited distance between the rows. The first row has its own distinctive features:

A) Business class armchairs have a rather large angle of inclination, and since there are no other seats ahead, you can not be afraid that someone will want to throw back.

B) With a small child in the business class, flying infrequently, but each salon has attachments for children's cradles, mounted on the partition before the first row. Because of what is likely that in the adjacent seats will be children.

C) Due to the fact that the special footsteps are installed in the A 320 aircraft under the front seat, you will not have such convenience.

Places of economy class in the front of the salon

The seats in the 6 (6) row are in front of the wall. They have a number of advantages and disadvantages:

A) Due to the fact that the space between rows in the economy class is much smaller than in the business class, this series gives a huge advantage to seated passengers: no one will be able to recline the chair.

B) This series receives food first, the service begins with it.

C) Space to stretch your legs, not so much, but enough space for the knees.

D) Each wall is equipped with special fastenings for children's cradles, quite often small children can make you company in flight.

E) The wall ahead occupies almost the entire view.

Whether it is worth making your choice in favor of these places, decide for yourself.

Places of economy class next to emergency exits

Airbus A 320 is an airplane with 4 emergency exits, which affects 3 rows of seats located next to them.

8 (12) the series is inferior to other economy-class seats quite strongly. Due to the proximity to emergency exits, the backs of the seats do not usually recline.

9 (13) The series has the same disadvantage with the restriction of reclining the backs of the seats, but this compensates for the large distance between the rows, which makes it possible to settle more comfortably, if necessary, by extending the legs. If one of the neighbors wants to get up, he will be able to pass without causing trouble to you. The places with the edge A and F are slightly inferior to the central B, C, D, E because they are often slightly skewed due to the presence of a series of escape hatch.

The extreme places 10A and 10F (14A and 14F) have the same problem, slightly curved due to proximity to the emergency exit door. However, the backs of these seats recline without any restrictions and there is little more legroom between the rows of seats.

The recommended places in the economy class are located in the same, 10 series B, C, D, E (14 V, C, D, E). Comfort for air passengers is achieved thanks to the increased space for your feet (since the seats are located in the passage to the emergency hatch). The backs of the seats can be folded without restrictions. The only drawback is the fact that hand luggage is not allowed to be placed in the legs or under the seats in front, as this makes it difficult to access the escape hatch.

Places of economy class at the rear of the cabin

The places in the passage in 24 (29) row (C, D) are not the most comfortable for passengers because of the close proximity to the toilet booths. People will often walk around and gather in the aisles at the armchairs.

Seats 25 (30) of the row, the last in the cabin, are usually considered the most uncomfortable on board an airliner. Beyond the wall are the toilets, which cause a lot of inconvenience: constant walking and pandemonium of people wanting to enter the toilet, a possible smell, as well as the sounds of flushing the tank and loudly clapping the door. Most often in this row it is impossible to throw back the back of the seats.

These are extremely bad places, taking them to cost in the last place.

The remaining seats are standard for aircraft of this class and usually do not have pronounced advantages or disadvantages in the convenience of the flight.

A lot of airlines in the world operate Airbus A 320. The aircraft can be seen at almost any airport in the world. In terms of popularity, this model loses only the legendary Boeing 737.
