The definition of the sex of the future child is myths and reality.

One of the most common activities for those who are soon planning to become a mom or dad is to determine the sex of the unborn child. It is rather difficult for the uninitiated to understand the meaning of these actions, it would seem - what difference does it make if a boy is born or a girl, but if one looks more closely, then everything is not so simple. First of all, determining the sex of a child can be important even before conception on medical grounds. For example, there are hereditary pathologies (diseases) that are associated with the sex, that is, they are transmitted only to the fetus of a certain sex. The most famous of them are hemophilia (blood coagulability), transmitted only to the male sex. Usually this disease is said in the singular, but in fact there are several species of A, B, etc.

The methods that make it possible to determine the sex of a future child are remarkable in their striking variety. Apparently, it appears that humanity has been engaged in this in its own fascinating process for a very long time, since ancient times. But with the development of modern science there are also new methods for determining the sex of the child. Such as, for example, the blood renewal of parents, the combination of blood groups, the date of birth of both parents, the lunar calculus of the ancient Chinese calendar, the diet, the heartbeat of the fetus, the shape of the belly, finally, and many others. But all these methods have one very significant drawback - low reliability and rely on them absolutely, of course, not worth it. One can only adhere to their recommendations, so that it is possible, indirectly, to somehow influence the definition of the sex of the unborn child.

In modern medicine, reliable methods are used to determine the sex of the child by which it is possible, both before conception and after it, in the process of developing the fetus. The classic and most common, as well as absolutely safe method is, of course, ultrasound. It can be carried out already from the first 12 weeks of intrauterine development. But we should take into account the fact that due to the anatomical features of the developing fetus in the early stages of ultrasound diagnosis, it is possible to erroneously determine the sex of the child, even with high-class specialists and on modern apparatuses. That is why it is not necessary immediately after the first results of ultrasound to run for a "given" child of certain colors, but it is better to wait for later and reliable research. Before conception, a single method, called scientifically pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (Micro sort), can provide a 100% reliable definition of the sex of the unborn child. Its essence boils down to the following: in connection with the fact that the sex of the future baby depends only on the father whose spermatozoa carry that most cherished (X or Y chromosome), all the cells that carry the unwanted sex are artificially removed from the sperm. With the participation of others, the conception of the child of the "desired" sex is produced. This method is new and not yet sufficiently tested and is carried out not by everyone, but strictly on medical grounds (in any case, in the Russian Federation it is legally allowed to apply it in this way). In addition, in this case, only fertilization is possible only in an extracorporeal fashion, which is also not completely physiological.

In any case, before resorting to any intervention in the natural course of events, determined by nature itself, it is worthwhile to think carefully about whether it is really necessary to do so. Perhaps it makes sense to perceive a future child, regardless of his gender and just love him for what he is?
