Pokrovsky-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary): History and Photos

The trend to restore and build monuments of architecture, launched in the era of the 90's, is currently gaining momentum. And the erection of churches, cathedrals and churches takes place in many Russian regions. And in this respect, the Republic of Chuvashia is no exception. Residents of the regional capital can be proud of the fact that on their land there is a unique object of religious significance, consisting of twelve domes. And many tourists and pilgrims come here only to see the Intercession-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary). From the point of view of architectural stylistics, it resembles the church of Ancient Byzantium.

History

The first stone of the cathedral was laid back in 2001. Then Vladyka Alexy II himself visited Cheboksary-Chuvash diocese. He also sanctified the stone, which became the foundation of the foundation of the building cathedral. The object was erected in the north-west of Cheboksary. This process lasted for five years. The project was financed through private investments. Pokrovsko-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary) became almost the main new building of Chuvashia. The process of building the facility was personally supervised by the head of the republic Nikolai Fyodorov and local metropolitan Varnava.

On the territory of the temple, it was also planned to erect a library and a Sunday school.

In the spring of 2006, the Intercession-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary) was partially consecrated by Metropolitan Varnava. The priest performed a ritual in relation to the lower church. The throne of the upper church was built in honor of the Ever-Virgin Mary and the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the lower one - in honor of St. Martyr Tatiana.

Power

In the autumn of 2006, from the Vvedensky Monastery in Pokrovsko-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary), a revered icon of the Martyr Tatiana and a part of her relics were brought to her, as well as the remains of Bishop Innokentii, Bishop of Irkutsk. Such an event was marked by the procession of the cross. Soon Barnabas consecrated the upper temple of the cathedral.

And then the relics of the hermits from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the remains of St. Panteleimon, and the icon with a fragment of the relics of the naval commander Fyodor Ushakov, the face of the Most Holy Theotokos were transported to the Intercession-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary).

School

Pokrovsko-Tatianinsky Cathedral (Cheboksary, address: 17, Mitchman Pavlova Street) is also a place for teaching children. Here, their spiritual and moral education is done by experienced mentors. And they not only explain to the boys the meaning of "God's Word", but also take care of the physical development of children, giving them the opportunity to play sports games or stroll through the forest.
