There are many techniques for knitting and crocheting. But constantly new and new interesting methods are becoming popular among lovers of artistic thread entanglement. One of them in recent years has become entrelak, whose name in RuNet has been altered as an enterlak, since it is easier to pronounce a Russian person.

Variety of patchwork

Since childhood, we know an interesting patchwork, which is called a patchwork. It turns out that there is the same kind of knitting on knitting needles. Only here the rags are not cut from the fabric, but knit.

To this variety of needlework, the enterlac is also counted. Knitting in this way makes it possible to get a beautiful colored cloth from interconnected shreds. The main difference from the main patchwork is continuous knitting. In the first case, the flaps are knitted separately with the detachment of the thread. To master this technique, it is sufficient to be able to knit a stocking fabric and understand the features of pivot knitting, when the fabric is created obliquely. This is the minimum set of knowledge necessary for mastering an enterlac. But before you start knitting the finished product, you need to practice on the old yarn. Without experience, novice masters in this technique risk getting confused and making mistakes, the correction of which will be noticeable, as the loose yarn loses its appearance in the product.

Enteralak: the beginning of the row on the spokes

In order not to be unfounded, we suggest you try knitting "enterlac". The master class will be virtual (on the pages of our article), but for experienced masters to understand the features of the technology will not be difficult.

The canvas starts from triangles. We type 18 loops, which is equal to 3 triangles of 6 loops each. We knit with a stocking knit, in each row adding 1 loop each. We start with two facial. We unfold and knit two purlins. In a new row we take from the typed loops one more and we knit there and back.

In this way, we sew all 6 loops and return to the "foot" of the new triangle, which also starts with two loops. We do not touch the copied loops of the semiquad. They are already ready.

In this way, we perform all three triangles, giving the beginning a canvas in the technique of "enterlac". The knitting pattern of the following rows will consist of side triangles and central squares.

Second row

It is here that beginners have problems. To the canvas was clear and beautiful, you need to correctly form the edge loop, which separates one square from the second. This is the whole technique of "entlac", knitting is a little more complicated.

The lateral triangle is knitted with the same turning parts: two purlins, flipped over, two facing, and again turning. Next, remove the edge loop, we make a cape and we sew 2 loops together. On the output we get 3 loops. We perform the operation similarly, until we master all the loops of the lower triangle and get 6 new loops.

The middle square is knit from the loops recruited along the wall of the first lower triangle from the bottom to the top. Each time we sew one loop of the second triangle together, until we master them all and get a new square of 6 loops. In this case, the loops from the side triangle are not used. We continue knitting with the technique "enterlak" until we get the canvas of the right size.

Product completion

To make the product look neat, you need to tie the last row correctly. It will consist entirely of triangles: lateral and final knitting "enterlac". We sew a side piece with the spokes according to the previous scheme, but in the last row, directed to the center of the product, we close all the loops, alternately tying in two.

Next, we take 6 loops along the wall of the base square and knit the same way as before, only the last 2 loops in the last row are also closed.

If you do everything exactly according to the scheme and nowhere to go wrong, you get a spectacular product that looks unusually even in a one-color version.

Where can I continue to apply the canvas? Knitting in this technique for beginners is suitable for creating blankets and pillowcases. The advantage of these products is that they do not need to create complex shapes. Simple squares and rectangles will not only be a training for the master, but also an opportunity to gain experience in this amazing technique.

On several knitting needles

Not only on two spokes you can work with anterlakom. It can also be created in a circle with the help of connected spokes or a set of four or six two-pointed ones. An example is knitting socks. The entrelac with the spokes in a circle is a little more complicated than a rectangular canvas, especially at the beginning of knitting. Therefore, to proceed to such a product is only after the simplified versions are mastered.

Socks begin from one square and gradually expand to the desired size. Next, knitting takes place in a circle without edge triangles, since the need for them disappears.

The heel is removed by adding and subtracting the required number of squares - a ledge is created on the resulting stocking. For a skilled craftsman with some experience, such a product will become not just another training of equipment, but also an occasion to present to your loved ones the most beautiful colorful socks.

Enterlak and hook

Hook too, you can get a beautiful piece of squares or rectangles. In this way it is easier to create multi-colored products, since there is no need to look after a large number of open loops.

Practice shows that knitting "enterlac" crochet looks great in Tunisian knitting. The cloth in this technique comes out softer, and the thread goes by an order of magnitude less.

You can use the usual columns, alternating them in beautiful patterns. But do not get carried away. The main thing that is necessary to achieve anterlakom is precise flaps, and not bizarre patterns, glued together.

Variants of binding complications

As already mentioned, you can complicate the product with threads of different colors to get a clear endlac. Knitting several pieces of yarn is difficult and requires extraordinary attention from the master.

There are variants and with a monochrome cloth. These are small openwork inserts that must have a clearly elongated shape to emphasize the direction of binding and thus focus attention on the effect of the shreds that make up the finished product.

But do not be addicted to this. It is more expedient to single out a small section of the product, making an accent on it. These can be openwork sleeves or some stripes along, across or obliquely of the finished product.
