Sutures after caesarean section: what to do?

Cesarean section is a surgical procedure aimed at removing a child from the uterus through a cut in the abdomen. Such operations are practiced when natural delivery is impossible, for example, if the cervix does not open, it is necessary to stop the pregnancy before the term or the child is in the wrong position that does not allow the mother to give birth independently.

Removal of caesarean sections

If after the operation the incision was not sewn with self-converging threads, then they will be removed between the fifth and tenth day after application. Stitches after cesarean section to remove absolutely not painfully, but sometimes it is unpleasant. For this procedure, neither anesthesia nor pain medication is required. After removing the seams, the scar no longer needs to be treated, and the shower can now be taken safely. However, you still need to follow all the doctor's instructions and continue to monitor possible signs of infection.

After operation

Weakness of ligaments and muscles caused by pregnancy hormones, will continue for three to five months. Muscles of the abdomen after childbirth lose their former tone, but in this case they were also cut. The stitches after cesarean section are very fragile, so if you have had an operation, you should definitely follow some rules:

  • Do not wear anything that is heavier than your newborn baby;
  • At any opportunity go to bed or rest;
  • Watch your posture;
  • Spend more time lying down;
  • Baby feed, too, lying down.

Need more rest

Before the seams after cesarean section heal, you need the rest as much as possible. It is a good idea to take all household duties on a spouse or relatives, you can also help older children or friends. If there are situations when you have to choose between sleeping, or, for example, ironing washed laundry, the choice should be unambiguous - rest. Without proper rest, there is no question of any recovery, after you were stitched after cesarean section, there can be no question. Therefore, it is necessary that all the concerns of the newly-made mother are limited to the care of the child.

Sealing after caesarean section

This is not uncommon. It happens that the sutures after caesarean section may become slightly denser. Once the wound has fully healed, you can massage the seam with almond oil daily for softening. You can also mix this oil with any other that has healing properties.

Essential oils can be purchased at a pharmacy in which products for phytotherapy are available. Twice a week for two hours you can put a mask on the seam of green clay, which can also be purchased at the pharmacy. In order not to create unpleasant or even dangerous situations, the formed scar can not be exposed to the sun for another year. That's why, if you decide to go sunbathing, put on such a swimsuit to hide the scar. If this is not possible, then seal this area of skin with adhesive plaster or completely refuse from such events.
