How to treat chronic adnexitis

Adnexitis is called unilateral or bilateral inflammation of the ovaries and fallopian tubes, which form an appendage. Of all the gynecological diseases, this pathology occupies one of the first stages. Chronic adnexitis develops as a result of the vital activity of streptococci, enterococci, staphylococci, gonococci, viruses, fungi, escherichia, chlamydia, mycobacterium tuberculosis and other microorganisms. Often the cause of the disease are microbial associations, for example staphylococcus and E. coli. As a rule, all pathogens are highly resistant to many antibiotics, so the treatment of the disease can be significantly delayed.

Causes of the disease

Chronic adnexitis can develop as a result of sexual infections, frequent hypothermia, stress, promiscuous sexual intercourse and non-compliance with basic hygiene norms. Often, the disease occurs after the artificial termination of pregnancy, when the inflammation spreads to the appendages. Similar symptoms can also cause an intrauterine device or appendicitis.

Types of adnexitis

Chronic left-sided adnexitis - inflammation of the left ovary and fallopian tube, with which it is connected. Symptoms of such pathology depend on the type of pathogen and are often manifested by pain in the lower left part of the abdomen. In addition, a woman may be violated by urination, purulent discharge appears and the general condition worsens. The patient often feels a strong chill and becomes irritable. In most cases, painful menstruation, increased fever and discomfort during intimacy are observed. As a result of the inflammatory process, the left ovary loses its physiological functions, and the connective tissue begins to grow in the fallopian tube, which impedes the passage of the egg.

Chronic right-sided adnexitis is characterized by localization of the inflammatory process in the region of the right ovary and the adjacent uterine tube. This pathology is a mirror image of the left-sided lesion and carries the same danger to the health of women. Because of the blurring of the main symptoms, it is only the doctor who can diagnose chronic adnexitis, as well as the nature and exact location of the inflammation. Therefore, it is very important to undergo a timely examination, which will help to cure the disease at an early stage.

Treatment of chronic adnexitis

To eliminate the main symptoms of the disease, anti-inflammatory and desensitizing therapy is prescribed. And also painkillers, immunostimulants and vitamins. In addition, chronic adnexitis is treated with the help of physiotherapeutic procedures, mud applications, gynecological massage and vaginal baths. If you do not take care of your health in time, the disease can lead to violation of the patency of the fallopian tubes, the appearance of adhesions, ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous miscarriages and, worst of all, to complete infertility.
