Itching in the vagina.

Itching in the vagina - unpleasant sensations in the external genitalia, which bring a lot of inconvenience. Calculations, crusts and maceration on the small and large labia may indicate that the woman has an itch in the vagina, the causes of which need to be clarified.

If a girl worries about this symptom, she becomes nervous and irritable, it's very hard to get to sleep and so she looks tired and exhausted.

What can cause itching in the vagina?

Let's start with the most simple and harmless. Often the cause of this symptom is poorly ventilated clothing. The primary time of itching in this situation is winter and autumn, when women are warmed and put on several layers of clothing. As a result, the heat balance is broken, and in a warm environment pathogenic bacteria begin to multiply rapidly and cause itching and burning. As a rule, treatment in such a situation is a hygienic shower. After that, the balance is restored and the itching passes.

Itching in the vagina often occurs against the background of long wearing daily hygienic pads, often flavored. The mechanism of the appearance of unpleasant sensations in this situation is the same as when wearing non-ventilated clothing. A preventive measure is the use of hygienic daily pads only if strictly necessary, but not every day.

Bacterial infections can cause severe itching in the vagina, which is very hard to tolerate by women and requires the use of medications. The most common infections, accompanied by such sensations - chlamydia and candidiasis. At the same time, in addition to itching, women complain of secretions from the genitals and an unpleasant smell. All these infections are sexually transmitted, so it is best to treat both partners. If the itching is caused by a bacterial infection, then on the labia, most likely, it will be possible to detect scratching (itching is very strong) and flushing. The walls of the vagina will also be hyperemic and swollen, so itching and burning are possible. Treatment is carried out together with a gynecologist or venereologist. This process is lengthy and requires the attentive attitude of both women and doctors.

Itching in the vagina can be a consequence of the inflammatory process in the small pelvis of an infectious nature. However, as a rule, women tolerate it well. Sensations disappear after the elimination of the inflammatory process.

The manifestation of itching in the vagina as an allergic reaction to this day is no longer a surprise. The fact is that there are all new hygiene products (foams, gels, creams and aerosols) that are popular. They include a large number of components that can provoke an allergy. Allergic itching in the vagina can occur on detergents (soap, powder, conditioner) left on the laundry.

Sometimes an allergy can manifest itself on the lubricant from a condom or gel-lubricator, as well as to latex itself. Cases of an allergic reaction to sperm have been documented.

If you notice that itching appears in the vagina after using any hygiene remedy or condom, you must remove it from the surface of the labia, douch the vagina with clean water and eliminate the allergen. If the discomfort does not go away and other symptoms begin to appear (swelling of the labia, redness), it is necessary to consult a specialist.

Itching in the vagina can manifest itself as a side reaction to the administration of medications, especially in the form of candles and douching. In this case, do not regard this as an allergic reaction. Just need to watch if the itching does not increase and new symptoms appear, then there is nothing to worry about and you can continue treatment.
