Sports nutrition

Much has been said and written in the literature about how to eat right for those who seriously engage in sports. But, nevertheless, no one is immune to mistakes. And all because there are certain myths that are rooted in the minds of not only beginners, but also "experienced" bodybuilders.

Myth 1

Sports nutrition eliminates fat consumption.

Indeed, fat is the enemy of the bodybuilder number one. But in fact, if you lose more calories in training than you consume, then fat formation does not threaten you. Conversely, even if the "bomb dose of protein" is normal for you, then in the absence of a proper load, it will be deposited in the fat layer.

Myth 2

Need to eat three times a day

No, in fact, you need to eat smaller portions, but 5-6 times a day. Firstly, it will allow you to vary the menu, and for a bodybuilder this is very important. And secondly, if you absorb food in large portions, then there is a deficiency of gastric juice. The food can not be digested completely, then the remains will remain in the intestines. The result is increased gas production and, again, fat formation.

Myth 3

Only chicken!

Yes, sports nutrition assumes its consumption. However, it should be remembered that, for example, beef tenderloin is also low-fat and healthy. In addition, it contains iron and vitamins B, which are missing in chicken meat. But, of course, much depends on the way of cooking. If you bake meat, generously pouring on sauces or butter, you can negate all of its benefits. The best option is to bake on the grill or in the oven, pouring lemon juice and adding spices.

Myth 4

It is necessary to drink only juices

Of course, juices are very rich in vitamins. Even schoolchildren know this, not just athletes. That's just not abused it. The fact is that the juice will certainly contain carbohydrates. For example, per calorie, one glass of juice is equal to one potato. In addition, do you know that juice stimulates appetite? In general, if you want to quench your thirst, then for these purposes there is nothing better than ordinary clean water.

Myth 5

If I overeat today, I must starve the next day

This approach is extremely incorrect. Do not "punish" yourself with such measures. Moreover, it will only be stress for the body, which can lead to a metabolic disorder. If it happened that you overeat, the best option is to return to your old diet, without going to extremes.
