Spain, Denia. The Province of Costa Blanca as it is

If you want to see the real Spain without tourist gloss, and also have a nice and budgetary stay at the hotel, take a dip in the clear sea and have the opportunity to see Valencia, then Denia is exactly the place that suits you. This small town is located one hundred kilometers from Alicante. To Valencia, almost the same. But cheap trains are what Spain can boast of. Denia is a great place to visit Valencia, especially since it only takes about an hour to get there for a little money. In this regard, the most traveling European nations - the Germans and the British - bought in these places almost all living space. And from here, inexpensive ferries to Majorca go.

Spain, Denia. What is interesting here?

Firstly, it is quiet and peaceful, and also at your disposal a huge clean twenty-kilometer beach (sandy). On the embankment you can take a walk slowly, admiring the palm trees and breathing the sea air. And if it becomes boring in this cozy province, we remind you that cheerful and noisy Valencia is only an hour's drive away.

Secondly, there is a great cuisine here. These places argue with other Spanish territories for the right to be called the homeland of the paella. This local kind of pilaf is so loved here that even festivals are organized in his honor - which quarter will better make a huge portion and treat everyone. Of course, the whole of Spain boasts such festivals. Denia is no exception. But let's return to interesting places. It is a pleasure to take a walk around this former "Saracen city". After all, buildings that were built in the time of the Arab domination were preserved here.

Dénia (Spain). sights

The town itself also boasts its own interesting places. This, of course, the Toy Museum is a tourist attraction, which is closest to the railway station. It is worth exploring and the city's churches - especially the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin. They conquer not so much their antiquity as the typical Spanish baroque with its love for suffering and sophistication. Very beautiful city hall, which can boast of even the inscriptions of Roman times. But the most important thing is Castello, the former castle (now the Museum of Archeology). Like almost all of Spain, Denia was an ancient Roman territory in the era of antiquity. However, the castle was erected by the Arabs, and so far in its architecture one can see the remains of eastern bliss. The notion of luxury and wealth added the Renaissance. Particularly characteristic in this regard is the Red Tower.

And, of course, fish

Two more smells uncontrollably reign over this drowning in greenery town. It's fish and citrus. Someone will say that this is an unacceptable mixture, but this is the Mediterranean, Spain. The city of Denia also attracts its gourmet fish exchange from around the world. All year round, they sell seafood - huge red shrimps, squids, octopuses. And the sale of fish turns into an auction with its rules, excitement and passion. After all, Costa Blanca - the "White Coast" - is famous for the gifts of the sea, and ships come here every day to replenish the cuisine of restaurants with fresh precious catch. And every evening the breathtaking aroma of grilled fish and seafood on the grill is blowing over the taverns. That's how they live here.
