Socionic types: types, features, methods of determination

Socionics is a fairly young science that studies socionic personality types . The first scientific work on socionics can be considered the book of the Soviet scientist Aushra Augustinavichyute "The Dual Nature of Man" (1978). This work opened a lot of new in the field of human relationships and suggested an original technique for constructing a psychological portrait of a person.

What is a socionic type?

Socionic types are a fundamental concept in socionics. There are 16 in all, and they reflect 16 models of human behavior in society. Socionic personality types reflect the way a person interacts with others, his notions of how the society should be arranged, how to behave, what is acceptable and what is not. Of course, the views of any of us are influenced by upbringing, life experience, and the cultural environment. But socionic types reflect the true nature of man and his desires, his real "comfort zone" in our multifaceted society.

Kinds of socionic types

Each socionic type is given the name of a real well-known person or a familiar literary character that best matches this description. For example, Jack London (a logical-intuitive extrovert) is described as an "Entrepreneur": he never misses his opportunities, knows how to take advantage of any business, he can listen to intuitive tips and take risks.

Stirlitz (logico-sensory extravert) - is a vivid representative of a good "Administrator": energetic, extremely hardworking, putting high quality work above all, who knows how to properly manage time.

Hamlet (an ethical-intuitive extrovert) is most convenient to occupy the "Mentor" niche in society: he feels the emotions of other people well and can perceive them as his own, possesses the gift of persuasion, always prepares for unforeseen situations in advance.

Hugo (ethical-sensory extrovert) is a big "Enthusiast": by his excessive emotionality he "infects" people with ideas and pushes for active action, an avid optimist, is happy to take care of his relatives and friends.

Robespierre (logical intuitive introvert) is distinguished by the orderliness of his thoughts, the clarity of statements, the desire for everything to develop a clear system that would be applicable in practice, and in general the desire to improve and improve everything. That's why it is sometimes called "Analyst".

Maxim Gorky (logico-sensory introvert) is a typical "Inspector": he tries to get to the bottom of what he is doing, wants to know all the information from beginning to end about the issue raised, a fan of reference literature, appreciates the complete order and submission to the system.

Dostoevsky (ethical-intuitive introvert), or true "Humanist" - likes to observe human relationships from the outside, is kind and generous, appreciates complete honesty in relationships, does not know how to exert psychological pressure, is not inclined to show aggression, so he can become a wonderful teacher or educator .

Dreiser (ethical-sensory introvert), or "Guardian" - a master for the definition of "his" and "strangers", choosing people in his "own" circle, he is ready to protect them and do everything possible for their well-being. He never expresses his opinion until it becomes really necessary.

The next type is "Seeker", or "Don Quixote" (an intuitive-logical extravert): he is interested in absolutely everything that surrounds him, is inclined to change his occupation frequently, loves creative ideas, but he is hard at work on monotonous work and all sorts of conventions.

Zhukov (sensory-logical extrovert) is a born "Marshal": resolute, assertive and influential, in any business strives to win, does not doubt and does not hesitate, calculates several action plans in advance, etc.

Typing methods

It is difficult to establish precisely for certain people socionic types. The definition should be carried out by a specialist in this field.

The most common method of typing is testing or type determination by external characteristics.

External typing

When socionic types were studied , their appearance was viewed as a separate interesting question. Socionics, having studied thousands of photographs of people belonging to a particular type, noticed that, for example, Stirlitz is distinguished by an ideally straight, stiff back, Dostoevsky - a completely unbiased facial expression. Jack London can be recognized by a "Hollywood" smile and an unkempt, "disheveled" look, and Yesenin - a refined elegant appearance and a shy smile.

Ideal combinations of socionic types

Socionic types have ideal pairs, which are called duals. For example, Yesenin will feel comfortable in the company of Zhukov, Stirlitz just lacks the sensitivity and gentleness of Dostoevsky, and Don Quixote will be happy with a man like Dumas.

If you consider this science from the point of view of practical application, then socionic types help people realize their weaknesses and strengths, take them and get the most out of their own characteristics, and find the ideal partners for creating a family, friendship or business.
